My surgery was 2.5 weeks ago. I was instructed to use paper tape over my vertical incision. I have a lollipop reduction. I had the paper tape on for the last week and removed it yesterday to clean and change it. I felt a sharp stitch poking through the incision on the second two pics. I also noticed a small hole forming on the first two pics. I phone the office and they said ps was away until Monday next week. I have to wait. Does this look like immediate attention is needed or can it wait?
I had my breast reduction on April 4th, 2019, There is so type of tape over my incisions ( either transpore or microspore ) I was curious which tape is usually used over incisions? My doctor wants to leave the tape on for another week or two but he said if it is sticking use powder. But some of the tape is coming off. Which tape is recommended to use: transpore or microspore? He said I can take if off if it's coming off but I just want to replace it so it can continue healing.
I am a week post OP from my breast reduction. My dr did not do an anchor incision. I saw him two days ago and he said we are leaving the tape on. My problem is the tape they used is very sticky and leaving residue to where lint and clothing sticks to it. I was wondering can I take the tape off, clean the area and use tegaderm to replace the old tape? So it wont cause clothing and the bra to stick anymore?
I asked my surgeon waiting on a response. What recommendations would work to help healing. Maybe silvadene cream or santly to help the wound heal. I have been keeping the incision clean and changing the dressing. How often should I change the dressing daily or every other day. I am using steri-strips. I am 2 weeks postop procedure was on the 10/27
So Im about 5 weeks post breast lift and reduction, and of course I have stitching all around my nipples as well as down the breast underneath in the form of a G. I was instructed to put new tape after showering when Im dry. However, I came across a small hole like shape with some (a bit) of pussing coming out of it, directly under my nipple along the stitches. What do I do about it? Should I apply something to it? Should I still put my surgical tape over it or let it dry first?? Let me know:)
I removed my steri strips and was taken aback by some of the incisions and stitching. During my follow up appt the tape was still on, so I hadnt seen the incisions yet. He told me I could remove the tape that day, and start the silicone sheeting immediately. Is this how everyones scars look at this point? Also, I have a few spots with a white stitch poking out that will not come out when I pull, and a blistered area that my surgeon said was nothing to worry about, but its making me nervous!
I'm 4 days post op and the initial dressing has come off. My surgeon has used incision glue and tap (I think he may have used disolvable stitches as well). He advised me to shower and let the water and soap run over the incisions, to dry the incisions off after and replace gauze once a day. I see lots of advice about patting them dry, but the tape stays wet after. What is the risk of blow drying the incision to keep them dry? Should I pat them dry with paper towel instead of a towel?
My surgeon has me wearing vaseline on my scars, but it's getting expensive buying the non-stick gauze pads to protect my bras. I only change the gauze every morning. I've read about Mepitac Silicone gel Tape. Would that be another good option for me to try?
I have dissolvable internal stitches and only tape externally. One of my underneath scars hasn't quite fully healed as yet and I'm still getting a little blood on the gauze. How often should I shower?
