We do see a rising trend in women. So hair loss can be caused by thyroid disease. It can be caused by hormone imbalance, a lot of medications including anti-depressants, anti-high blood pressure medicines. All of those products can cause hair loss. Your hair should be conditioned and shampooed only when it's very oily and that, for some individuals, is once every day; for some individuals, it's just once a week. Whenever there's excess oiliness, that's the time to shampoo.
You can over weather your hair, you can use curlers for a long period of time, you can use traction on your hair, braiding your hair, all those things are really bad and can lead to long-term hair loss.
