Hair restoration can re-create your hairline or restore lost hair anywhere on your scalp. It can even replace missing eyebrow or eye-lash hair follicles. Each hair graft is separated out under a microscope, so not even your barber or a hair stylist can tell if you've had a hair transplant. The hair follicles are actually part of a hair graft or follicular unit and each graft contains anywhere from one to four hairs.

After designing the new hairline with the patient's input and approval, I will then gently numb the areas that are to be grafted and then create millimeter-sized sites for the hair grafts to be placed into. Then, each hair graft is very carefully placed into the bald or thinning areas of the scalp. Hair transplants are great for men and women alike. Furthermore, recent advances in hair restoration include the F.U.E., F.U.T., follicular unit extraction or neograft procedure. This involves the use of automated extraction of individual hair follicles and does not leave any donor-side scar. I am pleased to offer this technique as well.

As everyone is unique, each harvesting technique is tailored to each individual patient's aesthetic goals. I also take great care to place the hair grafts at the same angle as any existing hair follicles to give the most natural look possible. The hair grafts do not require any stitches to stay in. Your skin makes a natural glue that holds the grafts in place. This modern technique of hair restoration avoids the pluggy look that was commonly seen in hair transplants done several years ago.

After about one day, small crust will form where each of the grafts were placed, and these will fall off within ten to fourteen days. You'll start to see hair growth in three to four months with the final result in about one year. These new hair follicles are permanent and they will continue to grow for the rest of your life.

Moreover, I truly enjoy performing hair transplants and seeing how amazed patients are with their results. Hair restoration is very well tolerated, just under local anesthesia. You can even eat breakfast the morning of the procedure. You'll be awake, but I will prescribe oral medication to help you relax throughout the day.

Also, there's usually very little discomfort during the hair transplant procedure. The entire process can be lengthy, so please plan on spending anywhere from four to seven hours with us. The entire hair restoration process is much easier than people think and the results are truly amazing.
