I find the patients that have surgery quite often in the first few days are almost euphoric and excited that they’ve gotten through their procedure and all of the energies and anxieties they had leading up to this have been unfounded. Then there’s an adjustment period. Patients need to get used to their new shape and their new bodies and how people are going to interact with them.
The real fun starts usually after a couple of weeks, when they start to realize that this is a natural change for them. They’re not being treated any differently by the people that they care for and they’re very quick to get back into their normal lives.
