I'm a 60-yr old female with good physical health. I had a Tummy Tuck on 5 weeks ago, and now I am having a lot of tightness. One day I think I'm progressing well, and then the next I feel as if I've stepped by several days. I have been wearing a fairly tight compression garment and am uncomfortable without it. I thought I would start feeling better and not as tight as time goes on but haven't. Is this tightness normal at this stage? Also, should I change to a less fitting garment? Please provide any additional suggestion for a speedier recovery. This surgery has really taken its toll on me. I don't seem to be improving as quickly as I feel that I should.
my procedure was done 1 1/2 years ago, I still experience a sensation of tightness in the abdominal area. it is uncomfortable but not painful. My surgeon continues to tell me there is no problem. Should I be more concerned?
Hi, I had a Tummy Tuck w/ No Lipo and Monsplasty procedure done in May 2023. I was told Not to get Lymphatic Massages because it was not necessary. Now I am 8 months post-op and my lower belly is swollen and still pretty tight. Can I get lymphatic massages to make the swelling go down or is this normal?
It took me over 9 weeks to somewhat straighten after my tummy tuck. I expressed concern to PS and was told some people take longer. Well 20 months on my skin still feels so tight. I cannot even pinch it standing straight. My posture was bad for over a year and now trying to correct it my incision is worsening. Suffer shortness of breath due to how tight i am still. What should I do? Im so disappointed suffering with this tightness so long. Use silicone, microneedling, laser, tret, hydroquinone.
I understood the first two years were going to be all about healing, it's a big surgery. But five years out, I have pain, swelling, and a tightness any time I do anything that involves using my core. (I moved boxes of paper yesterday). I immediately felt the hot, tight, stretching pain in my abdomen. What can I do to help this? Does massage help? I'm apprehensive about more surgery. This keeps me from meaningful physical activity. Pain scale is 4-7.
I just made six months post op from my tummy tuck. Over all I like the look but I do feel my skin is stretchy and when I sit I dont feel my stomach super flat. I dont know if I am still swollen or will need a possible revision. I have my follow up appt next week and not sure what to expect. How tight should my stomach be? I am 5ft, 128lbs and weigh the same prior to having the TT. I also had muscle repair.
TT w MR...1.2 yrs po...At 1st i was super tight sitting & standing then I started to notice a bulge when sitting. Ive addressed it several times. PS said after the skin heals it relaxes & the only way to fix it is to have a upper body lift. I honestly feel like shes just trying to get more money out of me. I had already had a BR 8 m prior to the TT. Is there any Else I can do? Feeling a little depressed.
I had a TT with muscle repair in Nov 21 and i still have a LOT of tightness in my abdominal area. And some days are worse than others. It seriously feels like a girdle under my skin 24 hours a day. OG Dr says give it more time. Is this normal?
I hAd a full abdominoplasty 11 years go. It has always let very tight, and dips in at the suture area above my pubis, which has since given me a FUPA. I have never stopped feeling like he front of my lower abdomen is a corset. It feels hard and u have no feeling up through my belly button. I assume I have a lot of scar tissue by now. Are there surgeries that I can have to remove some of the scar tissue and feel released in his area, without losing more feeling?
I'm ten weeks post op hysterectomy and full tummy tuck... I'm concerned about my scar just move the mons pubic area. It's bulging above me below and very tight. There is a Hard lump in the centre an the scar feels tethered down.. At my Last check up the nurse said the scar tissues may be stuck on the abdominal wall but my surgeon won't comment about it until my next check up in 1 months time. My belly button is also very hard and scared she suggested I may need cortisone shots? Should I worry?
