1 month update
It has been one month since my BA surgery today. Boobs have become much softer and swelling has gone down heaps. Nipple sensitivity is also better on both sides. I am very happy with the size. I got professionally fitted a few days ago and was told i am a 10DD or 10E! Never in my life have i ever imagined my boobs to ever be the size they are now!
Unfortunately though, over the past week i have really noticed very palpable bumps and indentation on the inner cleavage of my left breast which is a bit of a bummer. I have noticed that there is an unevenness/waviness in texture from the first week but i was really hoping it would get better as my breasts settle. Unfortunately, it does not seem that way. In fact, the area of waviness/ripply-feeling has expanded even more and where i did not use to be able to see the ripples, i was able to today while trying out some clothes in the changing room. It seems to only be visible when i am not wearing a bra, though. The slight lift and push of the bra makes my breasts appear smooth and perfect.
I guess i will give it some time and observe and also consult my doctor on the next follow up to see what he has to say. All in all, though, i am still ecstatic to have much bigger, fuller breasts as compared to before surgery and am having fun trying on cute bras and bralettes

I have been considering breast augmentation since...
I have been considering breast augmentation since my late teens, when I realised that being a super lean ballet dancer when I was undergoing my growth spurt meant that I would never get a full, developed set of breasts I have always wanted. I was not able to get it done until very recently, though, as my family was strongly against the idea of cosmetic surgery and also, I did not have enough financial means to do so.
I did plenty of research into breast augmentation surgeries, reading numerous forums, websites and even journal articles and had quite a good idea of how i wanted my breasts to look and feel like after surgery. I also wanted to make sure that, if i were to go ahead with the procedure, i was in the hands of a skilful, qualified, and knowledgeable doctor who knew what he was doing and has a good eye for aesthethics as I thought cosmetic surgery was not just science, but also art.
Through the real self platform, I was able to find Dr Ellis Choy for the first time and saw his various work and reviews. I was very impressed with how natural and highly-aesthethic the results of his breast augmentation procedures looked and was even more impressed to see that his patients have always been so highly satisfied on the level of service given by him and his team. At that point I was also very curious and interested in the subfascial surgery technique, which does not involve cutting the pectoral muscle to place the implant underneath, and Dr Choy was one of the very few doctors I have found in my research who seemed to be well-versed on that. So I booked an appointment with Dr Choy in the hopes of discussing my breast augmentation and new future. Lol.
Even before my first consultation with Dr Choy, the whole team has been tremendously helpful and supportive, ensuring to the very best that I got the time slots that were the most convenient for me and answering the different questions I had. On the day of the consultation, I was greeted by Siobhan, who was Dr Choy's incredibly friendly assistant and felt instantly at ease. She explained to me about the procedure, costs and post-surgery guidelines and was patient to answer my questions about work after surgery. When I finally got to see Dr Choy, I got to discuss with him more extensively about the procedure, the different options I had for breast augmentation, the pros and cons, and what was the most suitable for me and my active lifestyle. He took numerous photographs and measurements for me before giving me what he thinks were the best recommendations and letting me feel, touch and try on different implant sizes. By the end of that consultation I was a bit overwhelmed with the various choices but Dr Choy assured me that I did not have to finalize my decision on anything that day so I was greatly relieved.
I took the information gained from my first consultation and some time to think and decided that, I would like my new breasts to interfere the least with my movements and active lifestyle so I decided I would go ahead with the insertion of the implants in the subfascial pocket, as opposed to subpectoral or dual plane, which involves cutting the pectoral muscle. Even if that meant I had less implant variety to choose from, I thought that would be best for me. I informed the doctor on the second consultation about my final decision and he was very supportive of it. He made sure that I chose the right implants for the procedure because I still wanted natural looking breasts, none of the bolt-on look and we decided with a range of 300-375cc moderate-profile mentor implants. I was pretty happy to go with 350cc; I was basically happy to have the biggest possible implant size put in that will still be able to give me really natural result. I told dr Choy that i always like to verge on the bigger side but only if it can look natural too.
So imagine my amazement at the surgery when the doctor decided that the 375cc implants were suitable for me. I was really quite surprised and happy to wake up to them
The surgery itself went smoothly, I felt fantastic on day 1, with minimal pain and grogginess from the anaesthetics and was well taken care of by the kind team at North Shore Specialist Day hospital. I was sent home with a few different painkillers and muscle relaxant, which I was really thankful for, as the pain did get quite intense as the days go by. A few days after the surgery, I noticed a lot of discrepancies with pain level between my right and left breasts and also a small bulge on the more-painful breast which really quite worried me. And unfortunately, sometimes, googling things in the internet does not help soothing your worries. I gave the clinic and Siobhan a call, and was calmed down by the team. I still wanted to see Dr Choy and see what he thought of it, though, so I requested for my follow-up consultation to be moved forward.
Seeing Dr Choy also managed to ease my worries and he said that I was still in the process of healing and that it was nothing to worry about. He also showed me my before and after picture comparisons which was very exciting. I am really happy with how my breasts look now. I used to feel quite insecure about the size of my breasts in proportion to my body and would feel extra self conscious whenever I was not wearing a padded bra but Dr Choy has completely fixed that for me. Now I am still adjusting to how my new body looks and feels since it is only 1 week after the surgery after all, but I am definitely already much more confident and not insecure at all. Thanks so much Dr Choy!
