I have been contemplating having this surgery for...
I have been contemplating having this surgery for some years now and was awaiting the exact right time financially and support wise to go ahead with it. I have always felt very self conscious about my breasts and tummy since giving birth to my eldest daughter. Back and neck pain were a daily struggle and finding clothing to fit well was another ongoing battle.
I am a person that loves to be well informed and knowledgable about all that goes on, this surgery was no different. I was on forums and researching for a year prior. I went to see three prominent and well respected surgeons for consultations. I was quite disappointed with all three, they were brief, impersonal and they really did not give me the feeling that I was going to be well taken care of. Everyone I had spoken to told me to go with me heart when making my final decision for a surgeon.
I came across Zilver lining on the Realself forum and I was immediately impressed, I viewed the before and after pics and read the reviews, I made an appointment straight away. I had a great feeling. At my initial consultation I fell in love with dr Choy, he was such a caring, honest extremely confident and competent surgeon, he spent almost 2 hours with me answered all my questions and concerns, showed me many before and after pics. Dr Choy explained what realistic exceptions I could anticipate, he gave me ample time during this first visit, I did not feel rushed or uncared for like some of the other consults I had attended with other surgeon...dr choy approved me for being a good candidate for a tummy tuck with muscle repair and a breast lift and reduction (mummy makeover). After my meeting with Dr Choy I Immidately paid my deposit and set my surgery date, and I was extremely pleased and confident with my decision. I met numerous times with dr Choy prior to my surgery as a had many questions and concerns. He always put my mind at ease and allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed until I felt comfortable and content . He was honest, realistic and most of all concerned about my well being and best interest first and foremost and not at all about selling me anything further, in fact he would talk me out of certain add ons that he believed would not enhance my overall outcome which now I know and believe was the right decision. Day of Surgery was great, I had my surgery at a private hospital close to home which was very convenient for me and my family. Upon waking up, I felt quite good, little to no pain for day one. Dr Choy visited me every morning for my 3 day stay in hospital to check my recovery was on track. I loved that and he would call my husband to also keep him well informed. Upon returning home I had a few issues in regards to medication that were not agreeing with me. I had Dr Choys anesthetist Dr Jason call me and help me come to a resolve. Tina and Siobhan Assistant nurses were also great during my recovery period being contactable and accessible all most anytime I needed them. At my 2 week post op appointment, I unfortunately had some fluid build up in my right breast (hematoma) which is an expected complication which I was well aware of. Dr Choy acted immediately with taking me back to theater to do a minor procedure to drain the fluid.
I am currently 6 months post op and I can't be more pleased with my results, dr Choy did discuss with me a further element of this type of surgery that's not just physical component but physiological, the confidence that it will bring with it. I am so elated with this huge change in my self image and the positive effects it's had on my life, my relationship and even my future endeavors. I have lifted, perky breasts that are in proportion to my figure, no more back and neck pain and I have a flat tummy with a low incision as I requested, and great curved waist!!! Shopping for clothing is an absolute pleasure now. I highly recommend Dr Choy and his team at Zilver lining, and I can't thank him enough for the beautiful new body and life I'm enjoying now.
