Worst Case Scenario Getting Lip Lift

cosmeticinjustice
AVOID at all costs. Dr. Omar Hussain botched a lip lift so horrifically, I am left with a significantly drooping nostril and asymmetrical lip. Dr. Hussain CREATED a problem that needs revision and extensive regular maintenance to just look somewhat normal. Cassileth offered me a partial refund so insufficient that I would much rather do everything in my power to prevent other people from going through the same trauma that I did. The toll this has taken on my client facing work, my modeling work, my identity and ability to interact with others is unquantifiable. I went with him because he initially seemed reasonable and informative. However he did some strange things like dissolve my filler without any numbing, which is known to be unbelievably painful and strangely sadistic in an effort to save himself 10 minutes. Once he grew impatient with my questions, his demeanor shifted completely to cruel and menacing. On the day before surgery, he mocked me for seeming anxious while there was no assisting nurse in the room. He said things including: "What's wrong with you? You seem off. Are you shaking? Most people are excited the day before surgery. It's like going to Disneyland. This is so easy for me. It's like a sneeze. This is the easiest thing I do. You will not have any nasal distortion. When you see patients who have that, it is because of bad doctors who do not know what they are doing." He frequently disparaged other doctors and gave me 100% guarantees of his own results (RED FLAG). All I wanted during this pre-op was to discuss the exact mm he would remove because we had not done that. He angrily dismissed me with "clearly you don't understand what we're doing here. I thought that you with all your note taking would get it by now." He acted like I was asking him the same questions over and over when really I was addressing entirely new nuances and had expressed so many misgivings about whether this procedure was right for me throughout the process, he should have listened and reconsidered instead of pushing the sale. I know that Cassileth was formerly an all female doctor staff, so it is incredibly depressing to me that they would not act accountable enough for a doctor messing up a surgery, but also allow him to treat patients in such a degrading manner. This is greed backing his gaslighting; it's the first time I've seen a true stereotype of the "corrupt cosmetic surgery industry." This lengthy reviews is the tip of the iceberg of the deceitfulness of this doctor so you are welcome to email me if you want further information.

Just wanted to say how sorry I am that you are suffering. This procedure can take an unimaginable toll on the unsuspecting, myself included. Stay strong and I hope that you find peace and a resolution

Thanks so much. I am looking fully deformed and the greedy practice of Cassileth Plastic Surgery and Dr. Omar Hussain have offered no appropriate solution for the toll this has taken on my mental health or anything else. It's disgusting.

I understand completely the anguish and heavy toll this procedure can take on someone’s mental health when it goes wrong. It gets better with time (I’m 2.3 years post op) but I can truthfully say, I think about this procedure and what it did to me, every single day. I am self-conscious everything day. I wish I hadn’t done it every single day.

That breaks my heart to hear. I am in the same cycle, can't leave my home even though I'm brand new to this city. This is all on their hands. Were you able to find any cosmetic solutions to help improve it? If you're interested in being part of a large scale media campaign about this procedure and the corrupt doctors who do it badly or on the wrong patients, feel free to email your story to cosmeticinjustice@gmail.com ... you can remain anonymous to your comfort level. Since they're not willing to properly compensate me for all the revisions and filler I'll need to make this look VAGUELY normal, nor be compassionate about the extreme trauma and work interference, I'm seeking legal action but also to help spread the word about corrupt surgeons like these. Sending you so much love. Thank you so much for your compassion, as much as I hate that we both had to go through this.

I'm glad you had a good experience, but I assure you that the trauma of having your face irreparably altered messes with your identity and sense of bodily autonomy so badly that I cannot help but make sure I try to get my message out to prevent anyone from going through this. It's not vengeful. Review sites like Yelp and Google delete or hide bad reviews for absolutely no legitimate reason so this space is important to share true experiences, including the devastating psychological and life impacts of botched surgeries. If you scroll down to any Yelp page, at the bottom, in microscopic font, you can click "see reviews not currently recommended" and that's where the one star reviews are hidden. They're not all from unreasonable people, but this is a SURGEON, not a restaurant. He's cutting into peoples' faces so it's quite important to share the truth.

Truly Horrific Botched Lip Lift - Violation in so many ways

cosmeticinjustice
I would do anything to go back in time and not ever deal with this doctor or practice.

I am now about 8 months out from the procedure. I don't want to leave my house when I see my reflection. Dr. Omar Hussain of Cassileth Plastic Surgery pretty much deformed me. My lip looks almost cleft-like now because of how asymmetrical it is and how much the nostril is creased and pulled down from its former basically symmetrical position. He arrogantly made so many guarantees and promises of NO NASAL DISTORTION. I have it in writing from his own chats through the Cassileth portal. He disparaged other doctors with FAR BETTER results than his own. It is one of the most violating experiences of my life. And I haven't been spared violating experiences in other areas of life. I can assure you that having a surgery go wrong and being gaslit that you "will definitely heal correctly if you just give it time" for months, and having your face appear monstrous after being sold on a procedure that other doctors now tell me should not have been performed on me at all/was ABSOLUTELY botched... well, it's pretty much as violating as any other experience you can imagine. I cannot meet people in the same way I used to. I don't want to be seen. This has damaged the quality of my life more than I could have ever imagined.

For a practice that sold itself by saying it empowered women as something woman-owned, they (Cassileth Plastic Surgery owned by Lisa Cassileth) let this man gaslight and violate without consequence. The fact that this man talked to me the way he did before surgery ... that he wasn't able to hide his temper and arrogance in such a professional setting is astoundingly disturbing.

And then there's the way I woke up after the surgery. I haven't voiced it yet, and I honestly can't even confront it now, but basically I felt something was very wrong after the surgery due to the state in which I was woken up as well as the fact that I was just ushered out to my escort home without Dr. Hussain even having the basic courtesy to come back and let me know how things had gone. I have only been able to talk about it to a few friends privately because it makes me physically sick to think about.

One Year Post Op, Still Botched

cosmeticinjustice
It is unreal how much gaslighting this man did when I had a feeling something wasn't right, both before the procedure when I went in to just confirm the mm he would remove and after when my healing looked horrifically asymmetrical and he had cut all the way up one side of my nose and not the other. Monstrous.

I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with the devastating effects of this procedure. I wish this surgery came with a lot more warning than it does
