As a woman experiencing thinning hair and a receding hairline, I’m so glad I found Dr. Ken Anderson and his team to restore my hair loss. He discussed many non-surgical options, but I had tried most of them with a dermatologist and was ready for the transplant. I wanted to restore my hairline around my face which had receded over the past 7 years. He understood and his staff prepared the estimate of expense and scheduled the earliest convenient date for me. The fees were very reasonable compared to the PRP fees I had paid at the dermatologist.
The communication from the team and Dr Anderson was excellent. I had clear written instruction and coaching from the staff on adjustments leading up to the day. They have so much experience and want every patient to have the best outcome. I appreciate clear instructions on pre-surgery shampoo, avoiding NSAIDS and filling prescriptions before surgery.
My procedure experience started promptly with a welcome and health screening by the surgery team. Then, Dr. Anderson had a thorough pre-surgery informational video on what to expect and came to answer any questions or concerns for the day. He asked me to describe what I wanted to accomplish with the surgery. He drew the hairline with a surgery marker and asked me to review and confirm that we were in agreement.
I drifted off to sleep knowing I was in good hands. While I slept, those hard-working technicians with the microscopes took that strip of hair and prepared 1500 individual hair follicles for Dr Anderson to place and restore my hairline. He was meticulous in restoring the natural curves of the hairline around the face and matching the direction of the hairs to the small cowlick just left of center. This is NOT the pluggy hair transplant that my uncle did in 1972! It is truly individual hairs.
My procedure was about 6 hours and pain -free. Dr Anderson prescribed pain medicine, and I didn’t need it. I slept the first few nights in a reclining chair as recommended to minimize swelling. I had the donor hair taken as a strip across the thick part of my hair at the back. I used the recommended antibiotic cream on the sutures for the first few days. The trichophytic closure is tight. It healed neatly and is completely covered with my hair.
It has been just three weeks since my surgery, and the short hairs of the grafted follicles are visible. They are truly individual hairs that are precisely placed for a natural appearance.
