Loving my new breasts, they look amazing and I am so happy. This was such a great decision and I have NO regrets, I feel so good and have my first week appointment on the 8th. I hope they don't change much other than dropping and fluffing (hoping they stay this size, no smaller) haha... my fiancé and I get married in November and my body is definitely Tahiti honeymoon ready!!!

Your stats are almost exactly the same as mine and a minimum of 500 is what my PS told me at my consult this week. I haven't been in to do sizers or measurements but I'm curious to know why over vs unders for you? mine only does unders....I also am a 36A/small B and he said I have enough tissue to work with, my only concern is my nipple placement, I'm hoping if I go big enough that will help lift them. yours look great!!

Thanks so much! Well I also had some mild sagging and actually decided against a lift and they look great, the larger implant definitely did the job.. So, my PS recommended going over the muscle because he stated my chest muscle sits high on my chest and would not give a good result.. and also that I had enough breast tissue to start with... I love them, recovery was a piece of cake, they are soft and I'm so happy.. The sizers gave me such an accurate idea also... Good luck with everything =)

thanks for letting me know....did you try the rice sizers at home or should I not bother? the preop is when I do the sizers and also the full balance is due, but I feel think I want more time to go over size etc...im also going to combine it with a full TT so its all a little overwhelming. do you know what size bra you wear y
et in a brand other than VS(since I know their sizing is not accurate)?

I completely relate, I went in for my preop and settled on size and paid in full (I never tried rice sizers at home).. a few days later after seeing more tall women say our bodies just eat up cc's I asked to come back in again and went up 50 more cc's settling on that size! I'm happy I did.. No, I haven't been sized yet, I'm waiting a tad bit longer to ensure it's not swelling and closer to the final product haha..

Hey..... Did Dr. H tell you to massage them by laying on the floor & compressing them off and on or are you just doing regular massage?
User Avatar

June 23, 2016
Yes, oddly he did say to lie flat on them for 15 mins a day putting more weight and pressure as bearable... I do massage them gently each night with my hands. I've read so many things about the scar tissue forming around a subglandular implant so I have been doing that.

POD 3, is my surgical bra too tight?!...

User Avatar

Hillman16
Day 3, and I am feeling great.. still very tight but no actual pain. The only thing I'm concerned about is I think my surgical bra may be too tight... the incision area hurts and my breasts are taking this odd shape from where the bra covers and are flattened at the bottom. It feels SO much better to take the bra off and shower. How do I know if its too tight, or just right doing the job its supposed to?!

Congrats =)) you're looking amazing already!!!!!! so glad to hear how great you're feeling.... as for the tight surgical bra- if the band is rubbing on the incisions... I read somewhere to put maxi pads along the incision under the bra for padding... worth a try until you can get in to see your ps. =)) xo happy healing

Ohhhhhhh that's fantastic!!! Thank goodness..... I had actually been wondering if thst may be a concern for me next week..as I have a long torso and I find the surgical bra I already purchased already rides up under the crease and I don't even have implants yet! Yikes... I'm so happy it worked for you..... oh... ifvyou dont kind me asking, what kind did you use? I never us maxi pads and have no idea what to pick up..just in case I find myself in the same predicament. =))

You are looking great! I would say don't get a bigger bra, they are still swollen and the tight will help. And as the days pass the tight feeling will give you comfort. When mine were dropping, they hurt when they didn't feel supported enough. I had to get a tighter bra when my surgical bra felt too lose after the swelling started to subside. But yes use the maxi pads, I did the same thing :)

Thanks so much! That makes complete sense, I hope once the swelling goes down the bra will be perfect.. I definitely want everything held in place while they heal. And yes the maxi pads advice was great and helps tremendously

I was only in my surgical bra for a week but it would hurt a lot around the rib area so I would loosening it up by unfastening the last hook. Also I would take it off for 15 mins and put it back on.

Ooh I didnt even think about not fastening the last hook, I've gotta try that! Thank you

The girls have arrived and I couldn't be more excited. PS went with 500cc L and 550cc R subglandular, in the fold under the breasts (my right is significantly smaller and the imaging machine as well as the doc indicated 40cc would give the best symmetry)... My surgery was completed by noon after about 45mins and I was home and recoverin by 1pm. I had pretty bad nausea and threw up a few times when I got home, but other than that I feel GREAT (just lots of pressure).... I took one pain med at 1pm but I do not feel I will need it again until it's time to to sleep. . I am SO happy and cant wait to see them. I can remove the dressings and bra to shower in 24 hours... I can notice the R breast with the larger implant sits a little higher up on my chest, and hopefully it drops the same as the left and they're even. XOXO..... Christmas in June!! =)

I had my pre-op with Dr. Hartog on May 26th. Ironically, with me, he recommended that I go a lot bigger than I wanted to, which is the opposite of your experience with him. Of course, I'm way shorter than you (5'2) so it makes sense. Think I'm going to go with 275 CCs on the left and 350 on the right. He recommended sub glandular for me too and do you feel that lessened the pain by a lot? Everything I've read says it's a lot less painful than going under the muscle. How was your experience with the nurses and doctor on the day of? Did you feel rushed at all? How long did it take for them to get you checked in, prepped & actually started in surgery. Sorry for the million questions but as it gets closer, I'm starting to freak out more and more. lol. Glad it's gone so smoothly for you and keep posting updates. :)

Hey, no problem at all... So did je tell you why you should go over tje muscle? He told me my breast muscle was high up on my chest, and I had enough breast tissue. When he was marking me right before surgery he kept stressing "gravity is not going to be your friend"... lol. I do truly feel the pain was minimal, I literally only feel pressure and no pain. I've taken 2 pain meds, one right after I got home out of fear that the pain might start, and again 9 hours later just to help with sleeping... but none today. The nurse called me the day before to tell me my surgery time of 8am. I arrived 15mins early and wasnt even given my paperwork to fill out until about 8:35. The nurses were great but the process and wait was pretty long. I was then brought back to the preop room, where I undressed and got into a gown and my warm socks (bring some, its freezing in there). I waited in there for another 30-35 mins for Dr. Hartog to come in and take photos and do markings, all together I've seen him maybe 15 mins since my initial consult.. he asked if I had questions and at that point said he'd like to go 50cc larger in my R breast instead of 25cc. Then back into the room, the nurse came in to take my vitals and ask for a urine sample for a final pregnancy test. Back again
to wait on the anesthesiologist, she came in to ask a few questions then finally took me into the operating room to start the IV. By this time it was already almost 11am!! I cant remember anything from that point, besides waking up to my husband and new boobies haha. Sat in recovering very nauseous for about 10 minutes, the nurse gave me a shot to ease the nausea, gave me some water for my cotton mouth and after about another 5 mins... it was time to go. The staff is great, didnt see the Dr much at all but other than long wait times the day of, everyone's very helpful and nice. He called me the night of and asked how I was... I feel great, and LOVE them so far.. please feel free to ask anything you'd like =)

Thanks so much for your reply. Hopefully the wait won't be as long because idk how I'd handle that. My nerves are already pretty shot. Thanks for the heads up about the socks. Lol. That's one thing I didn't buy yet. Did you take any arnica pills prior to surgery? Did they seem to help if so? I bought some and they should be here in a few days. Figured it can't hurt to try them.
