Hi all, I'm going to give a brief rundown of my history and motivation and then get further into my experience and review.
I was always fairly flat-chested and since my mid-teens I had already decided that one day I would like to have breast augmentation. I had pectus excavatum so I had a bit of a tight band of tissue under my beasts which made me feel like they were always turned-down even at their small size of 32A. I decided following graduation from University that I would go through the procedure as a gift to myself and after much research, decided on going for a consultation with Dr. Lockwood. He has his own clinic which was reassuring to me as a health professional both due to ensuring equipment availability and sanitation reasons.
Dr. Lockwood and the team were all super warm, welcoming, accommodating and beyond informative during my consult. I had brought a book of questions with me to my consultation and he answered every question even before I had the opportunity to ask. They took much time to listen to what look I was going for, even going to far as to go through pictures together to get a better idea of what visually appealed to me. Based on my size (5'5", 135lbs) and wishes, Dr. Lockwood suggested that I go no larger than 450cc to obtain my desired look. After trying on the bra with inserts numerous times, I decided on 420cc tear-drop silicone implants. I made my appointment following the summer as to not be laid up during those warm months and set the date for September 30, 2015.
The morning of my surgery was smooth; the staff give you a small, private room to watch TV, relax, and for medication administration prior to surgery. They brought me into the OR and Dr. Lockwood and the anesthetist both were pleasant and making jokes, Dr. Lockwood even held my hand as I went under general anesthetic. Following awaking in the recovery room, my chest felt heavy as was explained it would. Apart from that, I had no profound pain or discomfort at that time. Prior to leaving the clinic hours later, Dr. Lockwood provided me with his personal contact information in case I have any signs of infection, hematoma, or severe pain, among other symptoms.
Recovery was a little difficult for myself. Due to the swelling and the tight band of tissue underneath my breasts, I found my nerve pain was substantial. For the first week my boyfriend had to assist me with most things; showering as I couldn't lift my hands up beyond chest-level without sharp pains, cooking as I couldn't open drawers or lift very much, anything that involves bending over such as putting on shows, socks, and slippers. Then to add to it, I became nauseated and began vomiting due to the medications, I assume. As a result, I became behind in my pain medications (Tramacet, due to codeine allergy) and the pain hit pretty hard. It took about a month for my nerve pain to completely subside but I was able to return to work following 10 days post-op. At that time the nerve pain was manageable. Sleeping was a challenge until maybe the 2nd week as I couldn't lay down, sit up, or reposition myself without ++discomfort/pain. I went to my 1-week post op appointment where Dr. Lockwood said that due to the tightness of the tissue and swelling that my above discomfort was normal.
I went for several post-op appointments, having my 6-month check up two weeks ago and my "after" photos taken. Dr. Lockwood was pleased with the results and indicated that the slight numbing of the scar area underneath my breasts could take up to a year to recover.
I'm beyond happy with my results despite the initial pain/discomfort. My suggestion to anyone who is considering surgery is ensure you have someone with you for sure for the first few days to see how you manage as I know my experience seemed quite more severe than a couple of my friends who also underwent augmentation. Also be sure you have all your laundry, yard work, and cleaning done at home prior to surgery. Make sure you're on top of your medication as the pain is hard to treat once you've gone beyond your next dose (I made a chart for myself and set reminders on my phone), have pre-made rations of soup and/or oatmeal and ice ready in the freezer (foods easy on the stomach, ice for swelling), drink lots and lots of fluids, and have a little station ready with your meds, water, phone charger, Kleenex, pillow, blanket, remote and Netflix readily available. Bring loose, comfortable clothes with you to the clinic on op day, and slippers with a back on them so you aren't at risk of tripping as you'll likely feel pretty sedated and unsteady when leaving the clinic.
All in all, it was so worth it! I highly recommend Dr. Anthony Lockwood and his team. I hope I covered all bases here. If you have any questions, feel free to send them my way!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I hope you'll get lots of support from this awesome community. Do you have any before and after photos you'd be willing to add to your review?
Hi Sheila,
I'm still waiting on my photos from the clinic so once I receive them I will definitely post them. Thanks so much!
Thank you! I look forward to seeing them :)
Did you go over or under?
I went over the muscle. Dr. Lockwood felt that would be the best choice for myself.
