Surgery Date Set!
$4,700
So, I really have to thank this site. It allowed me to stalk doctor's results in my area, prices, experiences and hearing alot of stories from all of you ladies makes a big difference. I was able to connect with and made appointments with 4 different plastic surgeons, and really thought out and planned aftercare around Christmas. I have a 4 yr old nonverbal autistic son, so NO surgery would be possible without the help of friends and family in advance. The goal for me is a mommy makeover but, in stages. Something like this isnt cheap for a single mom.
Anyway, Once Dr. Gillespie and I were emailing and I made the appointment with his receptionist, I had a good feeling I met my doctor. I drove an hour away to his office in DE. I actually didnt think the receptionists were very warm, which to my 3 doctors prior the girls who worked there were nice than the doctors, bedside manner wise. But I was called back and I got to really meet and talk to Dr. Gillespie. He's young, he's "with it" ...like he was picking up what I was putting down. He understood me, he understood my life, I could be very transparent with him and honest about my body, which of you are like me, then you are self conscious about even talking about what areas of your body displease you. I was able to be brutally honest but not feel judged. I knew right there within the first 5 minutes that THAT was the guy I wanted to cut me open. I'm a big vibe person. Originally my consult was a tummy tuck then Mastopexy. We went over both in detail.
The next person I saw was Kathleen. Man do I love her. Have you ever met someone and been like "yep, they're my people? She actually had the same procedure done, and she was another person I could be transparent with. She truely knows her [RS bleep] about everything, even more comforting that she has had the experience of going through it. She understood me financially, and they were willing to work with me in many ways. Ultimately after discussing the down time and care and the Christmas holiday, I decided to have the mastopexy done first.
The date is December 20th. This is going to be life changing for me and I'm so excited!!!

Paperwork
After I watched the largest single purchase I've ever made leave my bank account (besides a car or my townhouse) I felt relieved that THAT part was over Haha. I recieved a packet in the mail that included:
Information on the Mastopexy surgery, Dste and Time confirmation with the hospital, a catalog sheet of braces and post surgery bindings and bras, and most importantly, the insurance. I think this is worth talking about. If I were to have complications within 45 days post surgery, the hospital emergency cost (universally so no matter what hospital I go to) and care cost is covered. This is apart of the deal with Gillespie's office that isn't necessarily offered in every office. I'm comforted by this. It's a piece of mind that if I were to have anything go wrong that I will have not only the care available but at no extra cost to me.

Twas the Night before surgery!
And all through the house, my anxiety ran high and my voice sounds like a mouse lol.
I took a bunch of "before" photos. Tomorrow my body will look different and I think its important to take a bunch of pictures and remind myself that this is going to change my posture, my back aches and bra line hump. No more pancake areolas or hanging tube socks.
