So I went to the PC today and he confirmed that I was allergic reaction to the scar cream. I've been mistake for last 3 weeks w itching and irritation. Thought it was the internal stitches. I'm only applying hydrocortisone cream now. A little relief so far. I wish I would have figured this out sooner. My incisions are so red and irritated and I have a huge rash around my ears. I still love the results. Excluding this allergy, my recovery was without any problems or incident. Can't wait to see my incisions in a few days.

These irritating internal stitches.

It's been 6 weeks and 1 day. Im shocked at how no one warns you about these irritating internal stitches. My incisions are oozing, crusty and itch like crazy from these internal stiches. It was smooth selling prior to the internal stitches working there way out. In fact, I have a rash behind my ears. No idea why. Still love my results but very uncomfortable.

So just before 5 weeks post, my ears became very irritated. Behind the ears began to ooze and scabs were forming that looked like dried boogers. I was very itchy and miserable. I had to resist itching at my incisions. So what caused the irritation. I read and read on here and couldn't find the answer. The answer is the below level stitches were being ejected by my body and working there way out. I went to the doctor today and the nurse pulled all the stiches should could find. I'm still oozing tonight which I don't like. Hopefully it will sto tomorrow. My earlobes are swolle so much that they stick out. But I feel a little less itchy today. Thank god as itchiness is unnerving. Hope this helps someone in the future. I was scared I got an infection at 5 weeks.

I had a complete face-neck-brow lift on Jan. 26. I have had some trouble with one spot behind my ear. I haven't experienced any itching, just tenderness; to the point, that I didn't want anything touching my ear. Yesterday, my Dr. was able to dig out the stitch. Hopefully, enough of it. I'm applying an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment for a few days. I think 5 to8 weeks might be a common time frame for this to happen. Hope your ears heal soon.

The draining has slowed a little. The itching is not as bad. I was surprised as I haven't read about this on here. Hope your ear heals also. Good luck.

My ear is feeling much better; however, I have another spot where I think I'll need to have him dig out a "dis-solvable "stitch. I keep reminding myself that I wanted this and that love looking into the mirror now. It's like rediscovering an old friend. I'm appreciating more now how I used to look.

That doesn't sound like fun. So much for dissolvable stitches. I now have a rash behind my ear. Think I'm Allerigic to something. Good luck w that stitch. I still feel like this is all worth it. I love how I look. Just hope it lasts a few years.

I've had the exact same thought myself. I'm 65 and don't think that I'll be going through all of this again.
