Doing pretty well! The ripping feeling has pretty much stopped, and the surgical tape is beginning to come off of the incision. Woot! My scar is going to be so small! I'm so impressed with my surgeon. I think I overdid it today when I had to lift my toddler into his carseat... Praying I just stressed out the muscle and didn't do any damage. But otherwise, i think I'm doing pretty well! Almost standing up completely straight and haven't had to take a pain pill! Woohoo!

Great update! Thanks for the info on the Spanx...was just looking at them TODAY and trying to decide whether to get one with the crotch or without. So is yours a binder type that goes around your abdomen, or high top (up to under the bra) panties? I've also seen cami/tanks with built in bra. Would appreciate any suggestions. Think your lookin AMAZING by the way ;-)
January 11, 2014
Yeah the crotch snap is terrible! I got a medium and it fits really nicely, but I'm constantly pulling it out of my crotch. Lol. My binder was horrid, it kept riding up and rubbing on the incision which hurt like a [RS bleep], and I had read so many reviews about how uncomfy binders were that when I bought the spanx I decided to buy the full panty ones. They don't have any thigh control, and no built in bra. I don't need my [RS bleep] to be squeezed flatter than they already are, lmao. It is nice to be able to go with or without a bra. But if you can find something with a better snap, try it! If I could go back in time to the fitting room I would've made sure the snaps were easy to hook back on while the garment was being worn. Ugh. I will survive, though.

You are HILARIOUS, seriously, I laughed out loud when I was reading this...my hubby thought I was nuts. Check, the high waisted Spanx panties. I'd rather not have the cami/boob squish one OR the crotch snap ones. Are the Spanx panties hard to get pull up over the tummy?
January 11, 2014
Haha! It's not altogether pleasant, it's very uncomfortable having to squish everything in there. But it does give a lot of support and it helps you to stand up straighter. Even if your surgeon says you don't need one Id still buy one, it's helped a lot outside of taking the feeling out of my vag. Lmfao

You look great! Been thinking about you and how you're doing! I had some weird feelings as well on the right side of my incision. Rigan said they were completely normal and he was right: they went away! I updated my review last Wednesday for my 9 week mark. You look great though!!!

Thank you! You look AWESOME!!! Watch yourself with lifting your kiddo. Rigan told me no earlier than 4 weeks to lift my kids :)
January 14, 2014
Thanks! Yeahhhh I'm a little worried I messed something up, he weighs 40 pounds lol. I'm pretty sore. But I imagine if I'd have really messed something up I wouldn't be able to walk lol

My boys are almost 40 lbs each too :) If the stiches come undone, you would feel a pop sensation. However, because you're so early after the surgery, you could weaken the muscle repair if you continue to lift him and then it would all be downhill from there. I am 10 weeks tomorrow, and I still try to find ways not to lift them! lol
January 15, 2014
Yeah then to add insult to injury my one year old fell down off of a table and I had to pick him up too! He weighs twenty... Today has not been a good day. Haha. So you think as long as I don't strain anymore I should be alright? I'm so paranoid! Lol

I honestly think you're alright rioght now because you didn't feel a pop sensation (and you're not in TOTAL OUTRIGHT pain). However, if you do too much lifting though this early out, you could potentially weaken the muscle repair. Aaaaaaaah! You don't want that my friend!
January 15, 2014
What would that do?!
User Avatar
January 15, 2014
If you weakened the muscle repair, you could jeopardize your entire tummy tuck. Your muscles could weaken more and more, and then your flat tummy would be no more. You would see a bulge just like you did prior to surgery because the muscles aren't tight anymore. That's why the doctors tell you to wait to lift heavy things (including kiddos) until the muscle repair has healed enough where as it won't loosen. According to Rigan, that's 4 weeks out. You're only 11 or 12 (I think) days out, so be careful my friend ☺
January 15, 2014
Ugh. Well, I have a small painful bulge directly under my left rib cage. You can't see it, but I can feel it. No bulges outside of normal swelling below my belly button. I'll have to give him a call in the morning. :(

Please let me know what he says (or what Michelle says). He'll probably want to see you if it's painful like you said. I'll cross my fingers for you that it's nothing!
January 15, 2014
I'll let you know how it goes! I wanted to badly to have AMAZING results for my husband when he gets home, but I probably should've waited until he was back so I would've had more help... Anyway, I'll keep you updated!

Is there anyone that can help you with lifting them for a few weeks? We went out and bought a step ladder so my boys could climb it to get up into things (it wasn't a heavy ladder either). What did the office say when you called? Does he wanna see you?

Officially one week out!

usmcwifey2010
It's going pretty well! I'm almost kind of sort of not really standing up straight. I have two babies just under 2 1/2 so today I started changing diapers again, did the dishes, etc... Feels good to be moving again even though I'm sore. I had my post op yesterday, my binder was taken off. I'll up up some pictures! Still have some swelling, but wearing the spanx really helps. By the way, a recommendation, don't buy the spanx with the crotch snap. I thought it'd be good that I didn't have to pull it off my tummy every time I had to go to the bathroom, but it's terrible. I can't get it to snap half of the time, and my vagina keeps trying to eat it. Lol. The colace is doing it's job! Usually I'm pretty backed up, tmi, but the colace is helping. I'm going to start weaning myself off of it slowly. I took only Tylenol and my arnica today, no pain meds needed, thankfully. Arnica is AWESOME! Definitely helps with the swelling... I'm having a hard time with sugar cravings. I ate two and a half donuts today! Ugh. I'm definitely going to stop that... I think the sugar is my comfort. I still have a popping feeling on the one side of the incision quite a bit, but the doc says that's fairly normal so hopefully that will begin to fade as well. Can't wait for the swelling to go away and to see the whole result!
