I used to be pretty hot... Nice coke bottle shape, I worked out a lot, and my husband and I had a great sex life. Ten months after we got married we had our first baby. I'm a petite person, barely 5.1 and 120 pounds. Our children were huge babies and huge blessings. Unfortunately, My stomach looked so wrinkly and saggy I looked like I was 70! I had muscle seperation, and no matter how hard I worked out and ate healthy, it didn't get any better. It definitely took a toll on my confidence and sent me on a self loathing mental ride. Thankfully, my husband is a Godsend and fully supported me whether or not I wanted to have a tummy tuck. So, when he deployed and I just had to do it! Man were my nerves shot! But thanks to all of the wonderful ladies/occasional gents on here, I was able to find a ton of information, tips, before and after pics, etc... And now I'm a day out from the operation, and I'm in quite a bit of pain... But it will get better, and when my husband gets home man will he be surprised! Hot mama!

I'll put up pictures as soon as I can,
But I just wanted to say thank you to every one of you who posted their personal stories on here to be shared.

I hope you get your coke bottle shape back. The next few days are rough but you'll get through it. Gas pains should hit soon. Everyone gets them and they last a day or 2. Keep up with your meds, rest and drink. :)

I've already strained the muscles a couple of times :/ But I'm keeping up with the meds the best I can! Can't wait to see the results :)

And ouch! I've strained my muscles a few times and the compression garment seems to be riding on the sutures... Yuck. But I'm keeping up with pain meds, stool softeners, and drinking a ton of water! Also, I'm trying to keep moving just a little bit even though it hurts so bad. I think it's healthier than just being a couch potatoe. The swelling is mostly in my groin/upper thighs, and that's not all together pleasant either. Can't wait to see the finished product! I'm also trying to curve my comfort food cravings of Ben and Jerry's half baked ice cream... I gave in once and that's it, dammit...

I'm also a USMC wifey! Happy healing and don't overdo it. You just went through major abdominal surgery and you need to heal. I'm having slot of swelling below my BB too with pons and thigh swelling. I hate it too, so hopefully it goes away soon. Can't wait to see your pics!

The pubic swelling is crazy! Hopefully it'll be one of the first places to go down... It just looks unhealthy lol. Thanks!

No Regrets Yet

Still trying to move about a bit, and we adjusted my compression garment because it was riding on the sutures... Much better now! Thankfully I have no drains, but the swelling is still intense, as is expected. I think I'm doing fairly well for day 2! Walking is VERY painful. The back pain is excruciating. Haven't had a bowel movement yet, but I'm drinking miralax and taking my colace as directed so hopefully when that hits it won't be so terrible.

Hey! Dr. Rigan did my tummy tuck on November 6th. You are going to be SO HAPPY with your results! Check out my Review. I am 8 weeks out! message me if you would like to chat :) Dr. Rigan is not a man of many words, but he is GENIUS in the plastic surgery department. My tummy tuck is not the only procedure I've had done with him before. Welcome to the flat side!!!
January 6, 2014
Wow you look fantastic! How long did it take for the swelling to go down? And I'm having issues with the compression garment riding up and either rubbing the sutures or not covering them! Did you have to readjust yours?

Thank you :) Dr. Rigan truly is a master at what he does. I know that eating right and working out have really helped make it better as well. However, in my 4 week post surgery picture, I was just eating right and not working out yet and you can see how FLAT I am. I didn't have much swelling (you can see from my pics). I had (and still somewhat have) the pubic area swelling. My thighs and hips swelled too after the surgery, but that only lasted about a week. The pubic swelling will take the longest to go down. My binder was very tight and did not ride up at all. I know the nurse (Michelle) said the binder has to be covering the incision at all times. Can you shimmy it down to cover it?
January 6, 2014
We've had to undo it twice to shimmy it down completely over the incision :/. I hope my results will still be as good as yours! My post op isn't until Friday...

Well, some surgeons don't even USE compression, so I'm sure you'll be just fine. Compression keeps the swelling at bay. I am 8 weeks out and still use my binder for workouts. As long as you have it over your incision and keep it pretty tight, you'll be good :-) I sent you a message as well!
