I have slight ptosis, and for the last couple of years I've noticed that my eyelids didn't match each other (my left eyelid was damaged in an accident when I was 10 years old), and overall I just had a tired, sleepy, droopy look. I had been wanting to get my upper eyelids done for about a year, and in February I decided to bite the bullet and schedule my procedure with Dr. Amstutz at Grene Vision in Wichita Kansas. Decided to schedule my surgery for the Friday before Memorial day, so I could have a couple of extra days to recuperate before I went back to work. The procedure went great, there was minimal pain, and I've been able to gradually reduce the amount of eyedrops that I use. I looked like hell for about a week, but every day it's getting better and better. I'm at officially two weeks and one day since surgery, and today I wore mascara for the first time since my procedure. I'm interested to see if The upper blepharoplasty helps with pulling the skin around my eyes a little bit tighter, hopefully to improve the slight dark circles that I have underneath my eyes, but I'll probably end up going back to my aesthetician for fillers.

I did have a slight problem the day of surgery – checking in, I was surprised by the facility fee that had not been mentioned when the payment arrangements were made about three months before.

Two weeks after surgery

The swelling is going down each day, and the incision scars are becoming less prominent. I'm sure that the swelling will continue to go down over the next few weeks and maybe months. So glad I did this.

Your eyes look great. We are somewhat "neighbors"--I am having upper and lower eyelid surgery in Overland Park, KS on 6/14/17. I'll look forward to more of your updates.

Ooh. Do tell me about your lower eyelid surgery. I wanted to do that as well, but my surgeon indicated I wasn't a good candidate. Are you having the lower eyelid skin tightened, fat pads removed/repositioned, or what?

I'll post how it goes. The surgeon is making the incision on the inside of the lower lid to tighten skin and he will then do some fat grafting.

I still love my look. the scars are healing well, and each day the 'pink' on my eyelids fades. So glad I did this.
