Sooo I have always hated my nose for as long as I can remember.i finally decided to something about it. I had what is called the roman nose, where it looks like a hook or a curve. I had rhinoplasty froma doctor who was recommended from a friends mother so I didn't do much research, which I'm a little disappointed in myself for that. I had surgery on the 22nd. He fixed my curve and told me he was going to lift the tip since it drooped over. I didn't know what that would do, I just trusted his judgment. He also suggested a chin implant since I don't have much of a chin, and it made my nose stick out. He said in a perfect world, your nose, lips, and chin should line up. I kindly rejected the implant since my chin doesn't bother Me plus I didn't feel it was worth $3000. I wore the cast for 5 days, and when he removed it I was horrified. I cried and cried and cried. It was soo huge puffy and piggy! Finally I waited a few days and realized I am super swollen and am happy with the side profile. It's been 10 days and I still look like a pig. I've read on here and other places, it's normal, but I still find it hard to believe it's going to drop down. I told him today about my concerns he said to wait it out. When I asked if I could do anything for the swelling, he said yes don't look in the mirror. I don't see him for another 6 weeks and I'm terrified and horrified to go out and about. Please help me with honest answers and opinions. I was never fully unhappy with the front of my nose, I don't want to be afraid to go out for months. I just want to cry.

You are a lovely girl - don't be so hard on yourself!!! From what I've read, rhinoplasty involves MAJOR swelling that takes some time to go down. Your surgeon did a beautiful job on your profile - it looks so natural - even so soon after surgery and with the swelling. I'm sure when the swelling disappears, the front will calm down and everything will balance out.

Hi, I'm sorry you're having a hard time adjusting. You're still early out and not seeing final results yet. Hopefully it will improve to your liking. Please keep us updated. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank y'all soo much! You don't know how reassuring that is! I really hope it's just swelling and nothing more. I well def keep y'all posted as I progress! Feel free to share personal experiences or even just opinions! Thank you guys for the encouraging words! :)

Sooo it's progressing and going down. Can't wait for it to go completely down Lol. I don't look piggish anymore, it's just a little crooked. Here's a 2 weeks photo

Please don't feel bad...I promise it takes a FULL YEAR and sometimes longer for the swelling to completely go down and the real shape to appear. I'm less than a month away from the year mark and my nose STILL changes from time to time..it's very strange but takes a TON of patience...you are SO early in the process (not to belittle your concerns at all) but hopefully this will ease your mind some. I need to post some pics of my experience. My nose changed DAILY. You will look great!
Thank you for sharing here on RealSelf! It's hard to go from no-nostril show to nostril-show. Here's what some doctors say about tips dropping post-op. Hopefully this gives you some comfort. Please keep us posted.
