41 Years Old and Finally Had my Much Need Breast Reduction, Connecticut - Westport, CT

I have wanted (and needed) a Breast Reduction since I was 19 years old. I never had a training bra and by the time I was 12 years old, I was a 38DD. After years of watching them grow and change, countless backaches, neck pain, and shoulder pain, and scaling back on a job I love to do (Licensed Massage Therapist), I decided to seek out the perfect surgeon to help me with this on-going issue. I live in Connecticut, which is a relatively small state so, I figured that it would be easy to find the "right" one for me. I knew to choose a physician with the proper credentials, but what I was also looking for was someone who not only did beautiful work and had a wonderful reputation, but also had a great bed side manner. I also preferred a doctor who was willing to thoroughly explain all of the details of my surgery. After seeing 3-4 different surgeons in 3 years, I still was not satisfied and for various reasons. I left every single one of those consultations feeling a bit discouraged and was about to give up and go to a different state to find exactly what I was looking for. FINALLY, in early 2015, I heard about Dr. Ellen Mahony, located in Westport, Connecticut and immediately set up my consult. I was pleased just from the phone consult alone and was very excited to begin this journey. I can honestly say the minute I walked in the door of her office, I felt that I was exactly where I was meant to be. Dr. Mahony and her staff are all simply fantastic! Dr. Mahony is not only skillful and knowledgeable, but made me feel at ease. Her confidence and passion in her work is palpable. I definitely knew I was in the right place the minute I got to speak with her and before I left her office, I scheduled my surgery date.
I cannot express enough how pleased I am about this decision!!! Not only am I now able to wear button down tops, swimsuits fit my body differently, my back pain has subsided, and I feel fantastic! My confidence is over the moon!! The little things that I was never able to do before (sit/stand for long periods of time, working out, Yoga) I cam now do with ease. Since I have been able to do those things, I have lost 6 pounds and counting. There is actually decent body that was hidden under these large breasts and with my added confidence, I plan to keep going and looking as best as I can. Dr. Mahony did not aim for 'breast size', but made sure they were proportionate to my body and with that goal in her mind, I could not have asked for a better outcome. My overall experience was fantastic and I HIGHLY recommend her for any of your surgical needs.
Right now, I am still a bit swollen as I approach my 3rd month but I believe I am going to ultimately be a 36-38D, which is perfect for me. I still wanted to have breast, but not too much for my 5'4" frame. As you can see, I have very little to no scarring and after the surgery, I experienced minimal pain. I was able to get by on only taking 2 Percocet and then switched to regular Tylenol. I took 2 weeks off from work to recover (this is a must depending on your occupation) and had help with lifting and having small things done around the house.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my choice and feel like I can live my life as it should be. It is very exciting to be able to buy the cute bra's off the racks from La Perla or even Victoria's Secret.
