7 weeks - AMAZING UPDATE

Tomorrow we are flying home from a wonderful vacation in Hawaii. I am thrilled, shocked and over joyed to say that for the first time in my adult life I was 100% comfortable and confident in a swim suit! I even purchased a couple 2 piece options and wore those as well. I don't believe I have worn a bikini since high school. Talk about life changing!!!

I still have areas of my body that I wish were more toned, thinner, etc. Call it being a women in the USA. But I know if I work at it those (arms, butt, thighs) may improve...if not I am still one happy girl! My belly button still needs to heal a bit - it's swollen and red. I can tell it's not done healing but my guess is that the average Joe has no idea there is anything going on here.
I also went for a run for the first time PO on this trip. Dr said I must wear compression only when I exercise so I brought it with me. It was like starting from square one as far as my endurance. I figured it would be that way. I ran a slow 2 miles and it felt great. The only pain was in a strange place - the bouncing of my tush hurt...no clue why. I pushed through it but it was definitely a strange feeling.

A few notes about the world around me PO. I am realizing just how common breast augmentations are and was able to spot several other TT's in their bikinis this week too. Oddly, I caught far more women checking at my body then men. The men do a quick glance and sometimes sneak a double take but the gals are far more obvious. I can see how uncomfortable so many ladies are as they are getting in and out of the water or hiding behind their cover ups. Oh as they hoist their boobs up by tying their tops as tight around their necks as possible. I remember this (and the headaches from the tight top around my neck) so well! I really want to run and tell the women about life on the other side but I know that I wouldn't have appreciated that! SO for those of you on the fence... I can tell you - JUMP! You will be glad you did!!

4 weeks today - PO Dr appointment

I had an afternoon appointment today with my Dr. - I called and requested an appointment because I felt like I had a few stitches that should have dissolved and were sticking out. He took a look at my incisions and said everything looks perfect. The swelling will continue to improve as time progresses over the next 6+ months. He kept saying it's only going to get better from here. To date, he has always been right on when he sets my expectations so I am confident he is correct. The few stitches at my belly button and nipple we cut and removed - didn't feel a thing. I do have a bit of skin irritation on my stomach and around my nipples and Dr thought it might be a reaction from the scar cream. He said that my scars are looking so good that I don't really need to be using the scar cream. He suggested I stop for a few days and see if that helps to allow my skin to clear up. Everything was so positive at this appointment that the Dr said I could cancel my 6 week appointment and just return for my 6 month appointment. Obviously if something comes up between now and then I am always welcome to return to the office. I need to wear my CG for 2 more weeks during the day (at night I can go without.) After that I only need to wear my CG when I exercise. I have officially changed my status to "WORTH IT" and am very happy that I decided to move forward with this procedure and Dr.

Enjoy your weekend ladies!

4 weeks PO

My cold is slowly but surely going away. Thank goodness because coughing is still pretty uncomfortable. We took a weekend trip to Vegas and had a great time! I got to watch my family ski for a few hours, we went out to dinner and walked around old town, we played at Circus Circus and came home with lots of stuff animals!

The good:
I can do just about anything. My work schedule is back in full force. Housework is all do-able again...boo! I am sleeping through the night (still mostly sitting up since that is the most comfortable.) My clothes fit - even with my CG on which leads me to believe that I might actually be 1 size smaller. The playground reopened a while back and I am glad to say everything is working well!

The not so good:
The tight and slightly painful breasts...I SO want them to feel like the nice squishy samples that I felt in the Dr's office. I want to have bouncy natural looking boobs not uncomfortable hard rocks! I hate the tingling feeling in my back / butt and sections of my front side. It's just annoying. I am tired of wearing the CG and would like to burn it BUT I also don't like the way I feel without it on. It's like my insides are going to fall out! My nipples are crazy sensitive - not on the fun side (although I would have thought it would be.) My belly button doesn't look "normal". It's swollen, discolored and looks ugly. The swelling is pretty constant and I wish it would go away. I am flat but then I look like I have no waist or am totally bloated. The incision areas where my chest attaches to the breasts hasn't healed entirely.

All in all the good far outweighs that not so good. I caught my reflection in the mirror over the weekend and I was grinning from ear to hear about the reflection looking back at me! Guess I can change my status to "WORTH IT" now!

Pre-op: Office staff and Dr. seem great to date. There are lovely ladies working in the office but they are not intimidating. I feel comfortable to ask my questions and they have given me a good understanding of what to expect. The Dr. is extremely approachable and easy to talk to. He comes across as very confident (perhaps even cocky) but I believe this comes for knowing his trade & what results he will be able to achieve. Post Op - 3 days: Adding to this since now I am Post Op by a few days. Dr. Schwartz is terrific. He is positive, upbeat and fast paced. He has never had me wait for an appointment. He has a gentile touch and funny sense of humor. He always encourages me to call or email him directly with any questions or concerns that I have had. His staff is sweet and bubbly. So far everything has been a perfect fit for my needs.
