I had a terrible experience! I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Eric Joseph after reading the excellent reviews online. Had a sunken look under my eyes and looked tired. Was considering having bleph surgery and wanted to consult. With in 5 minutes of meeting with the doctor, he "had the solution for me and it was non invasive." He explained that he could do small injections of the silicon 1000 in the sunken areas to fill them in and I would be pleased. I agreed to doing so and was heavily bruised for 3 weeks. There were 2 puffy bumps under each eye, but the right much more prominant. I called concerned and he told me to ice it. I did so. Went back weeks later still concerned about the puffy bumps that people have now commented on. He acted as though he really didn't notice them, but to make me happy would try to inject a steroid to deflate it. Another 2 weeks of bruising, and minimal change. Needless to say I went to a few experts who stated silicon 1000 should never have been injected in eye area, to thin of skin and that the area would eventually yellow and the silicon bumps may even drop in my face. Silicon 1000 is permanent. Do not allow Dr. Eric Joseph to inject this under your eyes due to the chance what happened to me could happen to you. I've been dealing with this for over a year at this point and am very unhappy.

First off, I would like to say, sorry for your bad experience, with this stuff. I just couldn't help but to read all of the ratings under neath your statement of entire procedure and I found myself to be entirely befuddled. Are you sure you went to DR Joseph?? The reason why I ask is because there probably isn't a single Dr in our entire area or I will even say half the state that has better bed side manners than him or one that even answers questions with absolute clarity like he does. Im sorry but this really seems odd and bizarre. I found DR. Joseph to actually be a perfectionist at his work and as sincere as they could actually come, especially in this field of work. As far as other Drs/ experts and what they had to say about all this. Of course! they are going to say that. They would love to exacerbate something that bothers or annoy you so that you can come to see them. :) Good luck with everything

It wa snot other doctors who initially had anything to say about what the Silicon did to my facem it was my boyfriend, friends and family that could not believe that I paid to have such a thing done to me. The staff was wonderful, warm, friendly and caring. Dr. Joseph did not listen to me, acted as though he did not see the problem he created initially, and then attempted to fix the damage without success. I never heard from him again. If I created an issue for a patient and they were not pleased with the outcome, I would certainly make sure to follow up and do what I needed to do to repair the situation. This was not done. It was definitely Dr. Joseph..that's who billed me. That I am certain of.

I totally agree . I have had sillicon 1000 done last year by Dr Joseph and I couldn't be more happier with the result and the way Dr handled my request. My English is better writing but face to face I tend to get shy Dr Eric J had such patience with me to explain and he even refused to do my lips bcuz I had a coldsore and we agreed to go back in 2 weeks. My result look so natural and in long term saved me a lot of money not going back n forth for juvaderm or restilane. Today I just added 2 more pics on my review. Not to mention the procedure was pain free

Hey I had the same problem with this doctor I wanna know if u found a solution. The silicone can be remove after 3 months with a surgical procedure. This doctor is obsess with silikon that he didn't even do nothing to solve my problem hope u better

I had a consult with dr Joseph and I have to say I am as surprised at the good reviews as some of his happy patients are at the bad. I did not find him down to earth or in any way genuine. It was one of the few consults I actually had to pay for, and i felt it was rushed and that I took nothing away from it. He actually sang his part of most of our conversation. Yes, you heard me right. He sang. I've never had a more bizarre consult. When I asked him about placing silicon I one area, his only response was wouldn't put it there and when I asked why, repeatedly, he continued to say he simply wouldn't put it there. There is nothing worse than a dr who is dismissive of his patients concerns or questions. Especially when he is being paid to address them.

I felt the same exact way! I did not feel he was a caring person as everyone describes him to be. I was RUSHED! And I paid for the consultation and only felt as if he was dismissive and condescending. And for him to request patients to delete negative reviews?!? I am repulsed to say the least! Who is writing all this positive stuff?

May I ask who the doctor was in NYC that removed the silikon? And did it deform your nose at all or did it look the way it did prior to silikon?

I can speak for myself and let you know that not only was I not reimbursed, but I have spent $11,000 to attempt to remedy the situation thus far with no success. The surgeon I went to in nyc was honest with me letting me know that the silicon that was injected and permanent bruising created from the injections from Dr Joseph most likely will not be remedied, but he would do his best. The lower blog did not eliminate the bump of silicon under the eye. The 2 laser treatments did not diminish the bruising either. It's been an awful experience from the start and still NO resolve. I look way worse than I ever did the day priot to me meeting with Dr Joseph.

Hey Diana, is this the best statement you can come up with? It seems you cut and paste the same statement to all the complaints in Real Self. Dr. Joseph needs to hire a better Practice Manager or instruct you better on how to deal with unhappy patients. Repeating the same statement to every unhappy patient like it's a "cookie cutter sx" is very unprofessional.

soo confusing...swelling is normal and is the chance one will take with this. I am just soooo befuddled with the scores of bedside manner and answering of questions. What is Dr Joseph supposed to do? Dress up as a happy clown during and after procedure and give roses when its over. People to complain about swelling is one thing but to put "2" star for bedside manners and"1" for answering questions is absolutely Preposterous and a complete exacerbation of not being happy with results. Please rate your result fairly. A "1" for time spent with patient is ridiculous as well.

Im very confused Megan P. This is the age of the internet, I do not believe I said anything over board or anything that was remotely insulting. I am allowed to use the word Ridiculous, If thats what I feel. I have been a patient of Dr Josephs for over 4 years now, so, true patients know, that what I said is on point. I have never met a Dr who calls patients for follow-ups on procedures or just regular check ups, in my life.

Correction: I have never met a DR who follows up more with phone calls and free(no charge) check ups in my entire life, than DR Joseph. Its almost Unheard of to meet someone who almost will drop everything on there schedule, to meet with a patient or give a personal Phone call to address any issues that may be concerning a patient.

I agree with you 100%. Reaself is great because people can post their honest reviews and we can all be more informed consumers. It is so wrong how this office is harassing people by calling them forcing them to remove their honest reviews... Possibly hiring people to speak out against the person who wrote the honest review.

I find it interesting and a bit surprising that any "patient" of Dr. Joseph would get so aggressive and irrate with honest feedback based upon a terrible experience they had. With that being said, the complaints were not simply about swelling as you states, but about the permanent bruising he created, the permanent white puffy patch of collected silicon that never dispersed propertly and fact that throughut the process Dr Joseph tried to pretend as though it looked fine, it was healing, it didn't look much different, he didn't see what I saw, etc. 6 months after the procedure, family and friends were asking me what happened. Anyway, I do not feel as though a doctor's office should be having their web designer, friends, family and front desk replying to unhappy patients. Thank you though.

hey as i said before that i had almost the same problem like you, it is funny that i also shared a review about my bad experience with doctor eric and funny thing that comes another peson trying to say the oposite and that the problem was inside my head. well i hope that people like us, share our experiences so other people do some research and be caution about silikon. hope you ok, and things worked well for you.

I am so sorry this happened to you. Keep telling your truth. People need to hear it. That is what made this website great. There is something really WRONG when people jump on you for stating your experience. You deserve refund of your money and this Doctor should do everything in his power to fix you or pay to get you fixed by someone who knows what theyre doing.
