Firstly, it gives me no pleasure to write about a poor experience, but if it can help another person avoid going through what I've gone through with Dr. Emer and his staff, I feel it is an obligation of mine to share it with others.
That said, I'll keep it to the facts and reserve my opinions for another time. The following is what happened in chronological order:
Initial Consult ($650)
-I initially came in to discuss treatment options for undereye filler
-I received 5 minutes of Dr. Emer's time to get his recommendations. In addition to discussing options for my undereye area, he recommended filler for my temples, jawline, and lips, along with some additional skin treatments. He also said that I should consult his facial surgeon for blepharoplasty to address the tear trough area even though we were planning to treat that area with filler.
-Justin, his sales associate, came back with a printed proposal for all of the above that totaled $8K+ worth of treatments
-Additionally, Justin said that in order to achieve optimal results, I needed to purchase an LED red light that they sell out of the office for $350
Day of filler ($3,900)
-Firstly, this is about 2x's as much as I've paid for similar treatments
-Justin mentioned that there were cheaper filler options (which he didn't mention in the initial consult) that would achieve the same results
-Again, I received about 5-10 minutes of Dr. Emer's time for the filler treatment
-We did my lips and upper cheekbones, but he did not use any filler for my tear troughs as he wanted to see first how the other areas would settle
-After the procedure, I was quite swollen, along with noticeable bruising in my lips (this was to be somewhat expected, but, as a guy, I didn't want to draw noticeable attention to my lips)
-As I understood it at the time, because we didn't address the tear troughs, I assumed we still had that filler left and I wouldn't have to pay again for that area
One-week follow up ($1,500)
-I wanted to ensure we did not have any residual filler from previous treatments in my tear trough area prior to him filling that area (Note: I realize I should have done this initially, and I take full ownership of that mistake)
-Justin said that for the areas I was looking to dissolve filler in my tear troughs, it would cost $1,500 ($750 per syringe)
-He said that they sell Vitrase (filler dissolver) at cost, but I know from my own research that Vitrase is much cheaper, particularly if they're buying it in bulk
-Again, Dr. Emer came in for 5 minutes to perform the reverse filler injections
-And again, I came out significantly bruised from his injection points
-Dr Emer also recommended that I come in for a radio frequency facial treatment to help tighten the skin in my tear trough area
Radio frequency facial treatment ($125)
-All I can really say about this treatment is that it didn't have any noticeable difference
Day of filler (2nd time)
-My appointment with Dr. Emer was scheduled for 9:30a, but I came in at 9a to get my photos taken (Note: I had my photos taken 4 out of the 5 times I visited the office)
-I was placed in the patient's chair to prepare for the filler
-Justin was running late due to his car breaking down, so another sales associate attended to me to discuss what they were going to perform today
-I mentioned that there was still some residual filler I wanted to address prior to injecting new filler
-At this point, my frustration was noticeable and he said that they would do whatever it takes to alleviate my concerns and that it would not cost me any additional money
-I sat in the chair for 45 minutes as Dr. Emer was running late until Justin had finally arrived at the office
-I explained my concerns and Justin said it wouldn't beneficial to use the Vitrase again to knock out the rest of the residual filler and that I should just go ahead with the new filler
-Justin mentioned that there was no filler left over from my original treatment and that I would have to pay for the new filler
-While distraught, I said that I couldn't see myself paying for more filler and that they had "bled me dry of money"
-Justin's response was "sorry, we didn't mean to"
-At that point, I left their office as it was apparent that they didn't care about a dissatisfied customer
All said and done, I made 5 trips their office, spent over $5K in procedures, and am left with bruising, swelling, and my tear trough area (which is initially was I came in for) entirely unaddressed.
The feeling is more of distraught and hopeless versus angry.
I hope this helps anyone considering Dr Emer for any procedure.

His consultation fees are all over the place. Mine was $500, and after 7 weeks of going back and forth with his office, waiting for quotes and calls, I finally decided to walk away. I'm sorry you lost so much more $ than I did!
