Rhinoplasty/ Septoplasty - Great Aesthetic Result and I Can Breath!

My experience with Dr. Motykie and his staff...

My experience with Dr. Motykie and his staff couldn't be better! I have been following Dr Motykie's work and planning my rhinoplasty for over 10 years. Dr. M's office is several states away from me so I have had consultations with 3 other Dr.s to make sure I was making the right decision. I have also worked with several plastic surgeons in the OR that told me that very few plastic surgeons are really good at rhinoplasties and to choose wisely.
My original consultation with Dr. M was online and to the point. I consider myself a very easy patient that does her research and doesn't need a lot of hand holding. With that being said, if you are a patient that needs the hand holding, this will be a frustrating process for you because his office is busy and correspondence is slow. After booking my surgery I called all of the recommended hotels and received the best discount for Dr M's patients at Le Parc Suite hotel. Dr. M's office is in an area with minimal available parking so your best option is to Uber back and forth. At my pre surgery consultation I waited maybe 30 -40 mins for Dr. M. It gave me time to do my paper work, look thru his nose book and talk with his great staff. Dr. Motykie is a kind man and great doctor -something you recognize from the minute he walks in the room. This was the first time we had met, he listened to all of my wants and needs and we went thru more photos together and came up with another morphed image. He informed me my rhinoplasty would be done closed and all of my surgeries would be scar less. We decided on the following surgeries : Rhinoplasty/septoplasty, facial fat grafting to cheeks, under eyes, and lips, lipo my neck under chin, and buccal fat pad removal. I felt that he "got me" and knew what I wanted. I definitely didn't feel rushed. I'm a little OCD and noticed his office could use some aesthetic sprucing up (paint and ceiling tiles) but I didn't come to him for that, lol!On the day of my surgery I arrived early and waited maybe an hour. I felt comfortable with Dr. M, my anesthesiologist, and nurses and wasn't nervous at all. After surgery, since I traveled alone, they had arranged for a nurse to pick me up and stay with me for the night - best decision ever! I was never in any pain but it was nice to have someone watch over me, keep frozen peas on my eyes, help me with medication, and bring me to my follow up appointment in the morning. I had stocked my room with lots of liquids, a humidifier, frozen peas and ice, q-tips, peroxide, aquaphor, and pretty much just chilled for a week. I had no inner nose packing and straight after surgery could breath better than I have my entire life. At my one week check up they took off my (nose taco) cast, cleaned my nose out well and I was all set to fly home. I had two black eyes and neck bruising for almost two weeks but besides that this is a virtually pain free surgery. Even with the swelling I couldn't be more please with my nose from the second my cast came off - both aesthetically and the ability to breath so well. I recommend doing your research like I did prior to any surgery, and I highly recommend Dr. Motykie for the procedures that I had done!

It looks great!! I just had a revision rhinoplasty and FFT done with Dr. Motykie August 3 and I am so happy with the results so far. The bruising and swelling is certainly taking its time but that is to be expected. I am curious how long did it take for your swelling and bruising to be gone and when could you smile normally? Thanks!

Bruising and swelling has been longer than expected. At the 2 week mark I had my friend with a Sciton laser go over my under eye bruises with broad band light. My bruises were then gone 2 days after - otherwise I know they would have been another 10 days! I'm at 2 1/2 weeks post and my husband said I finally look normal when I smile. I'm glad you are happy with your results as well!

So Just an update. I ended up not getting laser but I used a lot of warm compresses and finally at the 3 week mark the bruises are basically gone!

Fantastic results! I'm also considering Dr Motykie for a similar suite of procedures and am also out of state. That being said- where did you stay for recovery? Was your total cost $10k for all the procedures and to have the nurse stay w you?

If you don’t mean to offend, why make a rude comment in the first place? I had fat injected under my eyes and in my lips to help avoid yearly filler. The fat is rich in stem cells stem that speed up skin healing and refresh the tone and texture of your skin. They over fill knowing not all fat cells will survive in the new location. Prior to my treatment my surgeon was very up front and transparent with me that my lips and cheeks would be overly large and swollen for up to a month. My surgical outcome was 100% worth looking “overpowering and funny” for a month. Thanks.

This looks great! Are you still happy with the results after two years? I would love to see an update of your case with a picture. Thanks!
