I live on the east coast but flew to California to...
I live on the east coast but flew to California to have a 3 month post-op follow up with Dr. Motykie for other procedures he performed for me in late January. This appointment was combined with another consultation for a few more procedures and as I was overdue for Botox and I asked Dr. Motykie if he would do it for me.
Now, to ask someone of Dr. Motykie's standing to perform something so pedestrian as Botox is kind of like asking a King to perform a jesters duties. But... I'm one of 'those' people who will only have cosmetic procedures of this nature done by a physician - and even then, I'm super particular about who I go to. Despite my request being outside the norm and testament to Dr. Motykie's awesomeness he took my request in his stride and agreed to do it for me during my apt and was patient, charming and revealed a fantastic sense of humor- hilariously calling me out on the fact I was trying to slide off the chair and away from the needle..... No less than three times :)
Since I've hit my 30's my forehead lines have become far more pronounced and I've become very self conscious about them. Between a steady diet of life stress and study I have a tendency to frown a lot and often for extended periods of time. While my hours long nightly mulling over of baffling journal articles has helped me on the inside- the outside has not been so lucky and I was at the point where I had to commit to either Botox or bangs and fortunately for everyone who had to look at me- Botox won out :)
I'm now a few days post injection to my forehead, glabellar lines and lateral canthal wrinkles (crows feet) and already there has been a HUGE change! Dr. Motykie really took his time with me finding out what I wanted to achieve and to his credit didn't burst out laughing when I said 'completely frozen' :) He then spent quite a bit of time injecting particular spots, frequently asking me to frown, squint etc so he could adjust as needed. I was and am EXTREMELY impressed by the time spent and care taken- though unsurprising it is in line with my previous experience with his work- take it from me, Dr. Motykie is an absolute artist, creating and enhancing beauty where one would think it impossible.
I can't say I've ever read any reviews of Botox being particularly fun or even that fast acting but only a few days post- I am around 90% 'frozen'
and Dr. Motykie had me laughing the whole time, so a big thank you Dr. Motykie for the comic relief and for what I already know will be a phenomenal outcome!
