Hi everyone,
Like many of you, I have been on this site and reading all of your stories religiously! Many of you have made me feel much more confident and ready to get this surgery done.
I have always had larger breasts. I remember buying my first bra in the 3rd grade. All of my friends were always jealous of my boobs, but I hated them. I always got this unwanted, uncomfortable attention because of them. I was a D cup by the 6th grade, and they pretty much kept growing from there. Last summer, I was measured at a 34DDD. However, a year ago, I got nexplanon (birth control implant that goes in your arm) which made my boobs grow even MORE. That is really what pushed it over the edge. None of my bras fit anymore, clothes look so funky on me. My bra straps leave a deep, painful indent on my shoulders, it's hard to find a comfy sleeping position...the list goes on. I'm also a theater/dance major--my boobs have definitely gotten in the way of me comfortably performing.
I've considered a breast reduction in the past, but I thought that was a little drastic. But with them exploding in size even more in the past year, I finally brought it up to my primary doc and she referred me to a surgeon. I had my consultation, and she said that I was a good candidate for the surgery. Better yet, MY INSURANCE WILL PAY FOR IT! Hallelujah! I was so incredibly pleased to find that out. So now, I'm all set! My surgery is on May 28th, and my pre-op is May 11th. It's coming up so quickly!
While I am excited, I definitely have a few fears/concerns. Some post-surgery pictures I have seen look terrifying...how long will it take for them to really look and feel normal again? Also, I have inverted nipples...does that make for a different experience? Anyone have any experience with this?
Anyhow, I'll try my best to keep up on this thing! I appreciate any advice, stories, words of encouragement, etc. :)

Definitely getting more and more anxious, but excited! School will be over at the end of the week, then it will be time to really prepare and focus on the surgery. I have officially decided to go through with the lipo axilla in addition to my breast reduction, which I feel pretty good about. At first, I was nervous about it being unnecessary and prolonging my recovery by quite a bit time-wise and pain-wise. However, my surgeon highly recommends it and says that it's a lot better to get it done at the time of the BR rather than coming back later on. It just gives you an overall better shape pleasing result. Plus it becomes way more expensive if you wait.
It's seriously crazy how fast time flies. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was in my PS's office having a consultation back in Feb. Now my surgery is in 10 DAYS! Eeeeek! Now it's all just a matter of waiting.......

Yahoooo!! I'm not scheduled until August but I've asked to be put on the cancellation list in case they can get me in sooner. The hardest part is waiting. I just want to get it behind me already. It seems it's all I think about! Best of luck to you! Please post pics in that same dress! You'll probably have to have it taken in. :-)

How was your surgery? And how was post op? Is it painful? .. Having my breast reduction in 3 days!!

It wasn't bad for me at all! I never experienced actual pain...just some soreness, stiffness, and discomfort. Just be sure to anticipate pain/discomfort by taking your pain meds as often as you are allowed and get lots of rest and sleep. The only issue I had was getting antsy laying around the house all week so just be prepared to sleep a lot and have books/movies/computer to entertain you. It's really not bad at all! Best of luck!!!!!
