I have been stalking this site every day leading up to my procedures yesterday. I had 533cc silicone HP BA and traditional lipo of flanks, abdomen & bra line. The reviews on Real self made me more aware to ask my PS plenty of questions I would not have thought to ask and I felt more prepared going in to surgery. I will not lie and say I wasn't nervous going in to surgery. Typical questions: 1. Am I being selfish? 2. What if the surgery isn't what I was expecting and I hoped for more? I felt at peace the whole time I was getting ready to go back. I had general anesthesia and the anesthesiologist was wonderful. She asked me lots of questions and answered all of mine. They started me off on my belly so they could Lipo back bra line and flanks first then rolled me on my belly side and finished up with abdomen and boobies! I am lucky to have chosen my PS because he actually sends you home with a pain pump!! It is a small bladder full of numbing medicine with small catheters running in to breast muscles. The name of it is On-Q. It will run out after 72 hours and its up to me if I want to remove it myself or go back to their practice and have them do it. My bestie happens to be a RN so I will let her take care of that. I can already see tremendous bruising through the compression garments when I get up to use the bathroom. Its nothing unexpected and it really does not hurt. I would say between the pain pump and medicines (Hydrocodone two every 4-6 hrs as needed for pain and I am only having to take one, Valium every 6 hrs to help the muscles relax and antibiotic) I am probably at a 4-5 on a scale of 1-10. Not bad. :) I will update my recovery journey.

That's great to hear that RealSelf has been helpful in your journey so far. The pain pump sounds great. Let us know how the removal goes. Looking forward to your post op pictures and more updates. Congratulations!

The removal was easy peasy. The nurse tells you to make sure it doesn't run all the way out so med will still be in the catheter to help with removal. Would recommend this for every future BA princess. Oh, my PS does them for his TT patients as well. :)

Aha, what a brilliant tip...making sure some medicine is left in the catheter to help with the removal. I've never heard of that great idea. Glad it was easy!

I am getting around easier now. I would say BA was a breeze. Lipo is the hardest part. It's more of an aggravating pain than anything. When you move it hurts. Lol. I dont want to put any pics up of my lipo bc I am still bruised badly although they are fading and I promise I will as soon as I feel comfortable. Make sure you have plenty of help to get you through the first few days and dont play superwoman and try to do too much. Your body was just put through trauma and it needs rest in order to heal.
