For my 80th birthday I gave myself the best gift I have ever received, a facelift. This procedure gave me back a beauty that I thought I had lost 20 years ago. If I meet a man who I can spend the rest of my life with that would be cool, but if not I enjoy being able to look in the mirror again. I do not fear reflective surfaces, meeting old boyfriends, taking selfies or wearing clothes that might look age inappropriate.

Any photos yet? I'm 70 and considering a facelift. Did you need any laser procedures afterwards?

I have given my doctor permission to post my photo in her before and after book but am loath to put it out on the internet. If you live in Massachusetts I could meet with you and show you before and after pictures.

I had been taking retina A for years so had no age spots and apparent my skin sin good enough condition so didn't need a peel. However am thinking of a little botox to complement lower face surgery. Will get doctor's recommendation at final consult. Do not want to get too compulsive about face.

Congratulations on your new confidence! :) Have you been getting a lot of compliments?

I love your story! You have such a "uplifting" way of living your life!
I am 50 now and after trials and tribulations (life you know), I'm having to revamp/overhaul A-Z (but for keeping with a decent husband/young child). I've decided I can't afford a facial rejuvenation, but so what? If I use my brain I'll find a way to make this little "me" gift become a reality! My younger self would "never" put up with quitting!

I'm glad you gave yourself this most excellent gift! Please feel empowered since you deserve it!

I wish you luck in whatever you choose to do! I hope you see every old boyfriend and flash your beauty left and right and meet the man of your dreams! Live life to the fullest! :)!!

Respectfully yours,
A Comrade in arms (and faces)

Thank you so much for your lovely reply. My daughter said my timing is excellent since, in her view, when you start too young you end up looking "weird". My own feeling is getting in shape , a not so expensive way to start looking better, is tantamount till you can afford what you want.
Good Luck, Carol

Your very welcome! I hope you enjoy every moment!
As for getting in shape: movement, light eating, meeting new people (only nice ones like you of course), and keeping my mind well fed help me keep the light shining!
Respectfully,
A Comrade in arms (and faces) :)
