I've been wanting to get a nose job since I was 14...
I've been wanting to get a nose job since I was 14 years old, because I was always self-conscious of my profile because I had a slight hump and my nose was pointy due to the 2 small bumps at tip of it as well as a line on the outside of my septum (the part in between my nostrils). So at 26 years old I decided it was time to get it fixed and Dr. Athre did that for me. Sandy, Dr. Athre’s Patient Coordinator was so friendly and helpful with every step of the process, setting up the appointments and payment arrangements, etc.. Before I tell my experience with the procedure I want to say that I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED and so happy with my now perfect nose. I would RECOMMEND Dr. Athre to any of my friends because I believe he is a great Rhinoplasty surgeon and has a GREAT TALENT for what he does.In my consultation Dr. Athre assessed my nose and told me what he could do for me which is everything I wanted and more. I had a few pictures of what I thought my nose could look like but he told me that everyone’s nose in unique to their own face and that he is going to fix what I wanted and change my nose fit my face to where if you didn’t know me it would look like nothing was ever done, which is exactly what I wanted. He showed me that my nose was actually slightly crooked when you look at me straight on and he was going to fix that as well. He answered all my questions about the procedure and what to expect, as well as answered additional questions I had via email before the procedure.I went in for my procedure and of course I was scared because it was surgery not because I was scared of the outcome. I had confidence that Dr. Athre was going to do a great job because of the reviews I read of him being the "Nose guy" and seeing the before and after photos of his previous patients. The day after surgery I was completely fine and actually playing with my 18 month old niece with no pain. The 3rd day I had a lot of swelling in my face NOT because of the nose procedure but because of the glue used to stick on my nose splint, so please be sure to check if you are allergic to this glue or have any type of adhesive allergy. I called Dr. Athre’s office and let them know the reaction I was having and I got to see Dr. Athre that afternoon. Dr. Athre gave me specific instructions on what products to use on my face and gave me a prescription for steroids to treat the allergic reaction. I can say the allergic reaction is what was painful but I was pleasantly surprised that my nose didn’t hurt at all. I also had absolutely NO BRUISING at all throughout the whole healing process.During my post op appointment I told Dr. Athre I was very satisfied with the results but that where the stitch was in my septum it was healing slightly crooked and one of the bumps at the end of my nose was slightly still there. (Even though no one could see either of these things if you looked at me, I wanted my nose absolutely perfect so I told Dr. Athre). He said that the crooked septum was likely because of all the swelling due to the allergic reaction and to give it 4 more weeks to allow for more healing and if it’s still there than he would schedule an in office visit numb me up locally and fix it that day at no charge to me. About 6 weeks later I still had the slightly crooked septum and the slight bump so we scheduled an office visit. They called in a “drug cocktail” to the pharmacy for me to bring with me to the procedure to help me relax and would use local numbing shots so I wouldn’t feel anything. I went in the office for this revision procedure and Dr. Athre fixed the crooked septum and slight bump. This procedure really wasn’t bad at all except for the first few numbing shots. From sharing my experience I hope I can help someone have complete confidence in Dr. Athre that he will do a fantastic job on your Rhinoplasty procedure and to be sure to check if you are allergic to any adhesives and let him know. I can say now that I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with the results and am happy to say I am no longer self-conscious and have a great CONFIDENCE BOOST because of it.
