As of now I am one week away from my surgery date, and I am extremely excited for the upcoming results. My surgeon has provided me with a list of supplements to take that will aid in my healing and recovery process which I have now begun to take 1 week prior to surgery. Vitamin C, Zinc, Bromelain, and Arnica - to keep my immune system strong prior to surgery and Bromelain and Arnica help to fascilitate the absorption of bruising and decrease swelling. I do bruise extremely easily, so I am really hoping these will help to avoid that! I will be out of work for exactly one week and plan on returning the day after my splint is removed. I am a bit paranoid about getting sick before my surgery-winters in NJ everyone is sick! My surgeon is a very well known Celebrity Plastic Surgeon and ENT, a lot pricier than other consultations I had been too(practically double) but no one else’s work can even come close to his therefore you get what you pay for! My mindset is, I’d rather pay more and have it done right, than be cheap and end up spending more in the long run and be botched with poor results! My advice is ALWAYS looks at the quality of your Doctors work, they should willingly show you before & after photos. You should also feel comfortable and at ease with your doctor- you will know who is right for you! Currently my directions for the night prior are as follows :
-Take one antibiotic evening prior to surgery
-Wash body, face, and hairline with Hibiclens (antiseptic surgical wash)
-Place Mupirocin ointment inside each nostril before bed
My mother and my boyfriend will be coming with me the morning of surgery and the doctor says my surgery should be no longer than 1 hour. I will attach the computer rendered before & after of what my result should hopefully look like.
I will update on recovery after my surgery!

1 week post op- splint removed

corrrr
Recovery Process has gone well. I’ve had extreme bruising which is typical of my body regardless I attached photos some of which are labeled chronologically. Today I had my splint and stitches removed and got to take a look at my nose. It is swollen but I can already see the bridge is straight with no bump and that the tip is more defined and feminine as well as less asymmetry of my nostrils than prior. My main concern currently is that the tip is extremely rotated upward and I feel like I look like Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch!! The Dr and his staff have all told me that the tip WILL go down with time..I’m really hoping that this is true! The front view is really what’s throwing me off because I can see right into my nostrils like a pig.. so needless to say, I’m definitely worrying about that. I have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks where they will get better before and after photos since I will be able to wear makeup and will have significantly less swelling and bruising. Any questions feel free to ask.

2 weeks post op (bruising and swelling)

corrrr
2 week post op undate- my face feels very numb and stiff from my forehead all the way to my top lip and I can feel it is overall very swollen especially the tip of my nose. I still have some residual bruising currently so hoping that goes away sooner rather than later since I’m still taking arnica and bromelain! Other than that I feel okay not really any pain, still sleeping elevated and avaoiding anything strenuous, bending over too much or lifting heavy objects. I’ll attach a photo of what my current bruises look like.
