This is my second treatment of Kybella. This second time, Dr. recommended that I forgo numbing the area beforehand because he noticed that numbing the area beforehand increased swelling post treatment. Sure enough, swelling was not as bad as first time (Dr. number area first time), and immediately icing the area afterwards helped with tthe discomfort. The pictures are three hours post treatment. I paid 700 per vile.

So no numbing the area gave you less swelling ?

Any comments about first injection? Did you notice any difference ?

Yes. The first time it swelled horribly and it was noticeable for first three days that my chin was abnormally swollen. This second time around, the swelling is minimal and doesn't look abnormal

My doc said that first treatment has the most swelling and that it would be half the swelling as treatments progressed. I am not sure it has anything to do with numbing.

Thank you for your post and your pics! Wow, no numbing? Did it hurt?

Well my first treatment was 6 months ago. I didn't go back right away because of the downtime (the swelling) until now

How many vitals were injected each treatment?
July 20, 2016
I myself had 2 1/2 viles injected. I have heard of as little as one vile and as many as 3 viles. I am not clear how doc determines how many viles to inject. There is a grid pattern they all use to determine where it can be injected. Doc then counted dots on grid to determine how many injections to prepare. He said "20 spots will be injected". I asked if doc could go outside of grid to "take a little fat off of lower neck or closer to ear" and he was very adamant that he could not do that due to "vital organs" or fda not approving those areas. So how is each spot on the 20 dot grid pattern injected with a differing amount of the Kybella? I will be asking next time because if I am paying a flat fee for the treatment (unlike others who pay per vile) I want doc to max out how much he uses.
