Waste of Money and Time: FaceTite & BodyTite
FaceTite and BodyTite does not work...at least not for me.
CONSULT:
I read a lot of good reviews on Dr. Bassin so I decided to go in for a consult. I came in to inquire about tightening the skin around my neck area without doing a facelift. I am 43 and was a bit unhappy with the wrinkles on my neck and wanted to see what would help. The consultant was very nice and convincing. During my consult it was determined that FaceTite would be the best for me. She told me that I should have good result but every patient is different so she couldn't give me a ballpark percentage of improvement but did show me what she would expect to see using a mirror and lifting my skin around my ear and under my chin area. I was told that the procedure was an outpatient procedure and I could go back to work the next day. She made the procedure sound non invasive and easy. She spoke to me about some specials they had and I decided to go ahead and do both the neck and stomach area to improve the wrinkles in my skin.
PROCEDURE:
I met Dr. Bassin prior to the procedure and he is a very nice guy. Very charming and comforting.
The day of the procedure, I opted to not go under for the procedure. Instead, I just had local anesthetics. The procedure was VERY uncomfortable. I have a very high tolerance for pain (c-sections, breast augmentation with no problems). I thought the procedure was a lot worse than anticipated. I thought this was a minor procedure with a spaghetti size tube. It is hard to describe the feeling since it was not pain per se because of the drugs but I recall wanting to pass out from it.
After the procedure, there was no way I could go back to work the next day. My face, cheeks particularly, was so swollen. I was told this would improve within a week. Three weeks passed and it was still swollen but slowly less swollen every week. At one point I started to wonder if my face would ever go back to normal. I avoided going out in public.
RESULT:
Every follow-up appointment with Dr. Bassin he would say how good everything was looking and I was confused because I did not see any changes except for my cheeks still being swollen. Every follow-up he would reassure me I would see improvements.
It has been over a year now and I still cannot see ANY improvements. They took "before" pictures and never took "after" pictures. I asked if we would take any and the first time I was told to wait until the next visit. The next visit I was told that since I was not happy with the results, there was no point in taking "after" pictures. Dr. Bassin suggested that I see his new surgery doctor to talk about other options. No way.
Although the staff is very friendly, I felt I got mislead with this procedure or it simply just didn't work on my skin? Hard to believe that I did not see any improvements. Very disappointed and also frustrated that I had to waste so much money, time and the pain I went through.
If you are thinking about doing this procedure, think twice. I am not sure if it is the procedure or my body or how the procedure was performed. All I know is that I spent thousands of money that is wasted.
