Provider Review
Not very good. I went in for a belly button surgery to make my outie into an innie at the consultation he was nice and promised to make it look exactly as I'd wanted it. I even brought pictures of what I wanted it to look like and he claimed he could accomplish that. I cancelled my other appointment and went with him. The day of surgery I wanted to ask some questions before surgery began and I was told he was with another patient. That was a red flag for me. I had to pay before I could see him in the operating room. I paid and waited for him. When he got there I explained again what I was looking for and suddenly he tells me he'll see what he can do and he'll do the best he can. Crazy how it went from yes I can get it the way you want to I'll do the best I can. He numbed my belly button and basically cut the top portion out instead of taking the whole thing out like we'd discussed before. I asked why wasn't everything taken out and he went into an explanation about the scar would be wide and I asked well the belly button is a scar and it would be sewn together. He stated that he could do a revision after I healed. I was very unhappy with my interaction with Dr. Stevenson. After surgery I never rwceiv d any instructions on how to care for it or what I could/couldn't do etc. For my first follow up I saw another doctor instead of Dr. Stevenson when I had been scheduled with him. Another red flag. At the revision another doctor was present and when I again asked if the entire stalk would be taken out he said he's so the best he could do. The assistant then brought me a pic of what my belly button looked like before the surgery. Dr. Stevenson then told me how much better my belly button looked now. I told him I was aware of how it looked before and it still doesn't look like the way I wanted it. He did the revision and cut away at my belly button again instead of removing the entire thing. I wish I'd never gone to him. He was great and smiling at the consultation then when I had questions right before surgery and after he answered them in a condescending tone. My belly button is now uneven and I have to pay AGAIN to get it done right. Stay away from this office.
