So, I haven't updated you all since 6 days post-op. My recovery has been slow and steady. The tightness of the abdomen is something!! I went back to work after 3 weeks, wearing my brace for much of the first 2 weeks back at the office. I remain sore, but I also moved recently so I think that I have over worked my body. I think I have a seroma forming on the right side, but will know better on Thursday at my 2 month follow-up. All is all, I am well. The results are amazing!!! I can't stop looking at my reflection in store windows as I walk past.

Pics to come soon....I promise.

Post-op Day 6: NO DRAINS!!! Nurse removed one yesterday. And in my 1st follow-up visit, doc removed the last. It still had a lot of output but was a hair under the requisite 36cc and the gods and doc were kind enuf to free me of the last worrisome appendage. I had actually snipped the stitch holding it in place last night because it was so painful. Doc was not pleased but drain came out anyway.

Today also was my first outing: docs office, cvs, lunch on a sunny 85-degree day. I was a bit worn out by the end of the trip. So my strength is definitely not 100%, more like 60.

Still no real appetite. The protein shakes continue to sustain. But I'm almost totally off my pain meds. Only take 1pain pill and 1 valium at night to make sleeping more comfortable. Daily discomfort is tolerable and/or treatable with tylenol. Now that drains are removed I will complete the 4 antibiotic dosages remaining and will be done.

Doc also removed tape over suture line so i was able to see a more "finished" result. Looks pretty good even tho im still really swollen, there are a couple of open spots and it's hard in some places to which he remarked "thats where all the tension is." I didnt ask what that meant cuz it really didnt matter to me.

For no lipo, there was a good amount of fat removed and my stomach is really washboard flat. The next year while in the study, I will be a gym rat to see what i can fix on my own. But i do foresee some sculpting of the flanks and back/bra line if a personal trainer cant address the problem spots that remain.

All in all, Im very happy with my results.

Day 3 post op: feeling pretty good. Rightside drain output is really high. Trying to hold out for the nurse but may have to empty on my own. Garment/brace is a drag. Too tight, had to loosen it to sleep. Still no appetite. Living off of Atkins advantage shakes and water.
