WORTH IT
I found Dr. Chaboki through the wonderful reviews from this website. He has a great reputation as he is listed as a top doctor and has around 2k expert answers on this website. I then went onto his website and saw that there were lots of information, and on a plus side, the design and formatting of his website looked professional and great. What led to my final decision was that his website had a tab listed “Asian eyelid surgery” underneath the “eyelid surgery” tab. Including a separate tab for Asian eyelid surgery let me know that he has performed eyelid surgery on Asians (monolids) and is knowledgeable and skilled in Asian eyelid surgery. I’ve checked many other plastic surgery websites around this area (VA, MD, DC) and they all only had an “eyelid surgery” tab from what I've seen.
I’ve wanted double eyelids since a couple years ago, because my eyelashes were mostly covered by my monolids, and any eye makeup I put on would be invisible. It felt slightly heavy to open my eyes wide open, and I wanted my eyes to feel light.
I scheduled a consultation through the phone, and I had my consultation 2 weeks ago. Dr. Chaboki was very informative, friendly, and professional. He explained everything so well, I was left with only a few questions. He is great at answering questions, and he makes sure that all your questions are answered. He is great at scheduling and works with your schedule.
I had my eyelid surgery done 3 days ago. I was slightly nervous, but Dr. Chaboki is surely confident in what he does and his confidence erased my uneasiness. The nurse was also very caring and gave off a vibe of friendliness. Before the procedure, he checked to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted. The only pain I felt was from the needles, but afterwards, there was no pain at all.
A couple hours later after the surgery was done, I felt the tiniest bit of pain but it was mostly just discomfort from not being able to open the eyes all the way due to swelling. I didn’t need to take any pain medication. I slept in a recliner chair to help the swelling go down.
1st day after the day of the surgery. There was no pain at all.
2nd day. No pain, and I could actually open my eyes all the way if I wanted to, but I kept them in a rested state.
I don’t know the results yet since recovery will take time, but I’m currently happy that I got the procedure done, and I will keep the post updated.
