My motivation for Asian eyelid surgery, or double...
Last Christmas I lost the opportunity for a big promotion at work. This pushed me to search for local San Francisco plastic surgeons. I both asked friends for referrals and searched online for a facial plastic surgeon who was experienced to performing this procedure. I paid for 3 consults and saw 3 different surgeons. All were nice and educated... But frankly I was worried about having a white male doctor perform the procedure. They were obviously experienced, but not with Asian patients and I felt they weren't hearing what I felt I needed.
So, I was complaining about this to my hair dresser, who happens to be the owner of a big salon in San Francisco. He said I had to contact Dr. Haena Kim. He swore by her. That she was "the destination for Asian cosmetic surgery in the Bay, etc."
Pros: Her office staff is really lovely. They immediately scheduled a free one hour consult with Dr. Haena Kim the next day. Dr. Kim spent over 2 hours answering all of my crazy questions. She never made me feel rushed, she came across as brilliant, and her personality was warm and kind. I felt I could really trust her and scheduled a double blepharoplasty, Asian rhinoplasty, and laser skin resurfacing that day.
The day of the procedure her team took really great care of me. Dr Kim made me fell less nervous too, which was nice. After the surgery she called my partner to check in and see how I was feeling - and she even offered to drive to our home to check on me, of needed. She gave him her personal cell to call any time ... Who does that? It really made us feel cared for and less anxious. She also sent me flowers after the surgery, which was very thoughtful of her.
I am so happy with my results. I feel I look better than I ever thought possible. I now love putting makeup on my eyelids. Back at work I get so much more attention on how much better and relaxed I look. But most people can't even tell I had plastic surgery, which is exactly what I wanted.
Dr Haena Kim now visits my home monthly to perform facials, Botox, chemical peels, and fillers on me, my sister, my mom, and aunt. We love it that she comes to us, rather than us all having to travel to her office.
