I covered my face one hour before the procedure,...

I covered my face one hour before the procedure, and then 1/2 hour before the procedure with Lidocaine. I took valacyclovir took 2 tablets twice a day, one day before the surgery, and the day of surgery, and one day after surgery for infection. I took 2 OXYCODONE 5.325 MIL. AND 2 HYDROCODONE 5.500 mil. one hour before the procedure. When I was admitted into the room, I was given novacaine, (omg, that was painful, just as painful as the laser.) It seemed like the novacaine had no effect at all.
I had asked for an aggressive laser, I am a 63 yr. old woman, and I had this procedure done 10 years previously. The difference being, I had the Laser procedure done while I was in a surgical center. I felt no pain while the procedure was being done, because I was sedated, and out. This time, I had it done in New Jersey, and I was fully awake. It was the most painful procedure I have ever been thru. If I ever were to have this procedure done again, I would definitely have it done while under, and not awake to feel the terrible pain.  Oh My God, it took about 30 minutes, the doctor pulsed (passed over my face, ear lobes, chin and eyes) my face 2 times, excruciating pain. It felt like 20 needles sticking me all at the same time, in like 50 cent piece areas. It was just as bad as the novacaine, (WORSE) so I don't think the lidocain, novacaine, or pain pills had any effect at all. I want to tell all of you out there, for your own good, ask for Methylprednisolone, for the swelling. I had to cancel my appointment, (for the next day, to see my doctor) as my eyes were completely swollen shut, and crusty. The first day, I took twice the amount of pain pills, just to get thru the evening. (I did wake up 3 times, to wipe my face, of the brown sugar effect, and remoisturize with aquafour. I woke up the second day, couldn't open my eyes, I had to pry them open with a wet wash cloth, very gently. The oozing kept going all day, I would wipe off the old moisture, (with the ooze on it) and reapply the Aquafour. AND I used the bags of peas 20 minutes on 20 minutes off. It was so painful. I put the bags in a pillowcase, so the plastic wouldn't stick to my face. Then reapply the Aquafour. (if I had known about the Methylprednisolone, I would have gotten it the day of my procedure.) I didn't find out about the steroid until I went back to the Dr.s and the woman told me of the pack. It really does work, it takes the swelling down almost immediately. Now on the third day, (today) the assistant cleaned my face, and reapplied the Aquafour. Now, I am allowed to clean my face with Cytdel 3 times a day, rinse, and reapply the Aquafour. I almost feel human again, My eyes are about half as swollen as they initially were, People, I also suggest buying the gauge pads for cleaning/washing the face. They are much softer then a washcloth.
Would I do this procedure again? NOT WHILE I WERE AWAKE!

My doctor was very nice, but I only really saw him during the procedure, I wish I could have felt a little more comfortable, discussing the procedure, I think (with me) he was a man of few words.) The whole office, none of them offered much advice, and when questioned, they answered with as little information as possible. I did see a lot of different products they sold, but they certainly didn't over sell. As a matter of fact, they hardly spoke at all about any of the products they offered. They do have pamplets though. I have many photos, but they are on my iphone, and I don't know how to send them to my computer.........;o( Sorry Dr. Nagy is an excellent doctor, I just should have had my procedure done in a surgical center, where you are put under.
