Regret Getting Filler. Will Never Go Back Again!

Strivingforbabysoftskin
I went in looking to help with my nasal labia folds and was suggested to add volume to lift my cheeks. I have always been pretty happy with my cheeks and have always been told how youthful I look and that I had great cheekbones. I'm 30 and I've always been told I looked 23 and have always gotten my ID checked at bars. The doctor suggested I add volume to my cheeks to help lift them and smooth away the nasal labia folds. After the treatment my face was swollen as they had suggested it would be in the beginning, but after a few months I'm afraid I no longer have a youthful face, but instead left with golf ball cheeks when I smile. My face is more symmetrical and feminine before, but now it is more angular and bottom heavy (from the high point of my cheek down). I feel like a clown when I smile and my face is more angular like a women 10 years older than me. I tried to ask to get hyaluronidase to remove it, but the doctor was confused saying no one has ever asked for that before. He was against giving me the enzyme saying that it would possibly leave my face more uneven and that I would be more unhappy. I broke down in the doctors office because I couldn't believe I had to live with my face like this for the next two years. After reading peoples reviews on Hyaluronidase I am soo happy I never got it done. I read reviews of peoples own fat in other parts of their face being dissolved along with the filler being dissolved. I am just extremely unhappy that I have to wait 2 years for the filler to the dissolve on its own. Since then I am been pushing hard at the gym and dieting hoping my body will metabolize the filler at a faster rate. I really don't know what else to do at this point, but wait it out. If there any other natural way of dissolving the filler aside from that hyalurondaise I will try it out

It happens exactly the same thing to me. I'm 31 but I always had full cheeks and natural rond cheekbones. I wanted to soften my nasolabial folds but the surgeon suggested me to also add volume in my cheeks to lift my nasolabial folds. But I look like an alien now! My face looks strong with those fake proeminents cheekbones as I lose my full cheeks. I also read terrible reviews about hyalurodinase so I will let fillers dissolve by themselves. I got my fillers this week so it's very recent for me. I cried a lot and can't look myself at the mirror anymore. I miss my old face. (sorry for my english I'm French)

I am soo sorry this is happening to you. there is hope. You have to wait it out. I avoided getting any photos taken. but it's been two years and my face is close to being normal pre voluma days. I mean close but it's still there and sometimes I feel and sense them. I found a doctor describe this issue. The filler affect last two years depending on your toe of filler. But remnants can still stay in your face longer. https://youtu.be/yoF_Ez27-L0 Keep you head up. If you workout and increase your metabolism it helps to metabolize the fillers faster. I am soo sorry!

Thank you for your reply and supportive comment. It gives me hope. My face is a little better today as the swelling went down but I still hate the result. I will working out more and hope that my fast metabolism will help to break down fillers faster. I didn't know that fillers can remain more longer in our faces as doctors always say that fillers can last between 6 or 2years and then dissolve by themselves. If I knew all those informations I would have thought twice before getting fillers.

Two years since Filler

Two years since filler, my face is back to normal! I know there are still some remnants left as filler doesn’t fully dissolves on its own. But for the past year I have changed my diet and added exercise and intense exercise to rev out my metabolism. This has helped immensely metabolize the filler faster

So glad to hear this. My doctor refuses to dissolve as well citing issues with the agent dissolving more than it’s supposed to. Fingers crossed that I won’t have to hide behind glasses forever!
