RF Micro Needling: Great for Real Skin Rejuvenation!

I can't stop the passage of time. But, I CAN and do take advantage of treatments that help to enhance the texture and look of my skin that changes with age, specifically pores, wrinkles, and sagging. When I read about RF (radio frequency) Micro needling), I was eager to try it. I heard that RF Micro needling addressed the exact issues that I wanted to tackle on my face and neck!
I had the procedure done in my doctor's office by my trusted medical aesthetician, Cindy Hinkle. Cindy completely prepared me for the procedure, set my expectations, and administered the procedure, which went very smoothly: I came in an hour early so she could apply numbing cream to my face and neck. Once the numbing cream took effect, Cindy brought me into the procedure room and set me up in the chair with a few comfy blankets. The RF Micro needling wand and experience is similar to regular micro needling — a lot of little needles in a wand create the kind of skin damage that will generate collagen and elastin growth. However, the radio frequency (RF) adds heat that penetrates more layers of skin for a more profound effect. It didn’t hurt but the needling with the added heat was a little annoying. The whole process took 30 minutes and I walked out looking a little pink but just fine with no make up. I added “eyes” and “lip” and went out that night.
The next day I was a little bit swollen (only if you know me) and developed itsy bitsy scabs on my face and neck that were evident in my 7X lit make-up mirror but that no one else seemed to notice. On day three I had dinner with my mother-in-law who told me I looked great and asked me what I had done. It’s hard to credit the RF Micro needling: three procedures are recommended for the best results, but who knows? I have to admit I thought about it and knew that even though I still had mini-scabs on my face I looked pretty good for having just had a damaging procedure. I can’t wait to go back in three weeks and do the next one! Stay tuned because I will post before and after pictures once I have had the second procedure, and the third.
PS I’m 60. I’m not trying to look 30. I just want to look fresh, healthy, and glowing. I think the RF Micro needling is an effective treatment to help me look like my best self – a great treatment for anyone who is over 45. Honestly, I would have started doing this 15 year ago if it had existed.
