Petite, Getting 375-425 HP Silicone Under the Muscle; Will They Look "Fake"??! - Virginia Beach, VA

ORIGINAL POST

Hello! I just had my preoperative appointment this...

$6,000
Hello! I just had my preoperative appointment this afternoon- it's becoming real! After trying on 325, 350, 375, 400 cc silicone implants, I decided I liked the "look" of the 375 cc implant. I am about 5'5", 120 lbs, wearing a 34 A. My breasts measure 12.6. My surgeon discussed with me that in order to achieve a sub muscular silicone look that looked like the 375 implants, it would take close to 500 ccs which my body just would not be able to handle. So, he decided that a high profile implant would work best with my desired look combined with my width. He said that he will size me during surgery with a 425 saline implant filled with air and see if he can close that. He is ordering in 375, 400, and 425 to be safe. I am just really paranoid about having that "fake," semicircular, bolted on look. I know that the term "fake" and "natural" should kind of go out the window, but I don't want it to be an obvious augmented looking bust. I'd like people to sort of wonder and think, "Wow, those look great." I want perky, but not crazy. Does it seem like it can be done given that I have never gained or lost any more than 10 pounds ever, never been pregnant, and am young? My surgeon also says I have adequate padding and my left rib cage is a little more prominent than my right side. Long, but just really obsessive and want to make sure I'm choosing the right thing!

Hey!! I am 5'3 and 117 pounds with a 12.6 BWD. I liked the look of 350cc and my plastic surgeon said 425 would give me the look I want. I got silicone under the muscle! I was so shocked since it was almost 100cc larger, but I trusted in him and am so beyond happy I did! As long as you feel you've thoroughly explained how you want your results to be to your PS just let him do his thing, you won't be disappointed:)
Yay! What you have on your wish list is exactly what my wishes are as well! How are you healing up? I'll have an inframammary incision, don't know if that'll make a significant difference or not. You're looking great, and that definitely made me feel better. Thanks girl! congrats on the additions :)
All of those sizes would look great on you. I'm smaller than you and love my 350s, so I say go for 425; there's not much difference in cc and once they shrink and settle and feel natural, you'll be glad you did for sure. Check out my pics.
Yeah once I heard how little of an amount it is per 25 cc increment, it made me feel a little better. And holy moly you look amazing! It's really really really making me more comfortable! How long were you down for before you really started feeling better? And how long did it take for everything to settle and look normal? (I know it's different for everyone but I can't stop looking it up ;) )
Thanks. For my first BA I had no pain at all, only mild discomfort, so just two weeks and then I returned to fully working out (that was for overs). For my revision, initially it felt like a truck hit my chest, but that was a 3-hour surgery with capselectomy, new pockets under muscle, and Strattice, so lots of healing. Still, by day three I was off of pain meds and drains came out and feeling normal. Just be careful with your hands -- opening things, reaching, etc. That's the hardest part --trying not to mess anything up. It's amazing how often you use your pecs, like opening doors, etc. I was back to lower body cardio at 2 weeks, running at 5-6 weeks, so it goes by quickly. As far as settling, mine looked great from day one both times. There was swelling the first few weeks, I guess, but it went away so gradually that I woke up one day and realized they were soft and squishy and had been for a while. I love my size now -- I had 225 overs and then 350 unders, so I know that 125 ccs isn't much of a change, per se, but now I don't need push-up bras and I have side boob and nice cleavage with this size, and it makes all the difference. I never need to "hide" them (they are not obnoxious) yet they look amazing without a bra or just in sports bras (which I am in 24/7). Buy a huge triangular wedge pillow. I had that for my revision and it was heaven -- no back aches or neck aches or morning boob from sleeping elevated, etc. I used that for 5 weeks. And drink a ton of water after surgery to flush out the anesthesia. Best of luck!!!
I am pretty much doing the same thing with the same doc! We ordered 375 and 425 silicone. I am just a tad smaller than you and I really am afraid of looking fake too.
I am a little over 2 months post op and they look and feel great. I can't feel any edges of implant at all. I've never really handled or felt another woman's breasts but I imagine that mine feel pretty natural and squishy. I am hoping for a little more settling in the upper pole department. From the front they look amazing and from the side, just a little high and round for my taste. Everyone that I have let see (fiancé, mother, sisters) has said that they look great, but I should still see some more settling in the months to come. I have another post op appointment on Tuesday and I will let you know if he has any good info besides what I've told you! I can send you some pictures if you'd like? I was looking for anything I could get when I was waiting for my surgery. I really have to say though that I'm very pleased. I can sleep on my stomach and do the things I used to do before surgery. They are perky but at the same time (from the front- to me) they have a nice looking droop that doesn't scream "fake." They jiggle all the time too. It's actually really weird to feel that. I thought they would be harder and not really palpable and have less movement. I don't wear a bra except for when I have class a few days a week for a couple hours because he said it will allow them to drop and settle where they need to be. And even then I wear a comfortable (not tight or binding at all whatsoever) sports bra. Like I mean zero support, haha. I haven't been fitted for a regular bra yet because I'm really just waiting till I absolutely need one. When I go out I wear a bandeau if I need to or a little jacket so you can't tell. Please let me know how your thoughts are going! I wished I had someone who went through it that could talk to me! Haha! Good luck!!
That's awesome! My surgery is on Monday! I am super nervous. What size did you end up going with? Thank you for your update! I figured I would be layering alot of tank tops for a couple months
Well like I said, he did order the different sizes which yours did too so that's great. He was able to fit the 425. I was like "omg that seems so huge now that reality is setting in" when I got out of surgery. Well actually, I didn't even know what size he put in till he called me that night at home to check on me! I knew I looked large even with the bandages on, but I was swollen obviously. I was actually nervous that I had gone too big for a moment, but I was like nah, it will be fine- they wouldn't have fit if they were too big you know? They looked WEIRD for like a month I would say. Like squares when I first got out of surgery up until a few weeks out, maybe more really. Take progress pictures- they'll make you feel better seriously. I was so discouraged at first thinking they were neeeeevvvvver going to look like nice round boobies, haha. But they really are looking better and better by the day still. I'm so excited for you! Just make sure you really do have someone home with you. I'm not sure if you've been prepped for like the pain and the after care and stuff so if you want me to share how my experience was I totally can. I don't know if my long novels are annoying for you to read, haha. Like I said I wished I would have had someone who could talk to me who went through it! I'm not wearing a bra today though! Just a tank top and a sweater and you wouldn't know the difference! It's great. My scars are still sort of pink but at the same time I scar easily. I've been told they are right on track with the healing process though. You can't see them from straight on though. Again, will show you pictures if it helps you any. I hope I can help you more before Monday and after if you so need it! You will be SO happy when things start looking "right!"
Thank you so ok much! I do have someone, my husband will be with me. I would love to see some pics! My big fear is being able to see the implants I have like no breast tissue. I have read tons about the pain. Everything from feeling like they worked out too long at the gym to feeling like you want to die. Not sure how I will feel yet but I have had two kids and breastfeed both so hopefully I will be alright. I will take your advice about the progress pics!
I was scared you would be able to see the implant too! I was like convinced you would be able to see them. Literally no sign, can't at all. It's awesome. First couple of days were pure hell, I was like omg whhyyyyyyyy did I even agree to something like this. Then I felt like I did no joke a million push ups or something. The worst part was my back. Like the way I had to sleep and sit made my back hurt soooooo badly for the first couple of weeks. My fiancé would just massage me when I needed it and I would feel better. I've never breastfed but I heard it was similar to being engorged but I wouldn't know much. Once you get your energy back and feel normal again you won't even remember the pain! I think back and I'm like hm....how did that even feel! But yeah I just felt tight as hell and like I did 38479845793485 million push ups or something. Honestly thats the worst of it. After that subsides you just kind of feel bummed that they don't look hot right after surgery. That sucks. But it's like they look like crap and then all of a sudden one day they look amazing. Good luck!!! Keep me posted!
Hi, I have very similiar stats and wanted to let you know that you aren't the only one struggling to pick a size. I am 5'4", 120#, and I currently wear a 34A in VS Pink which I have a hard time filling out fully. I had my initial consult today where the doctor recommended two sizes for me. I got to see both in the 3-D simulator. Also, I tried both on and decided to go with the bigger of the two which was the 350 HP silicone implants. I've heard many people say that they wish that they would have went bigger after surgery. I too want nice full sized breasts to fill out bathing suits, tops, and dresses without looking like I have two melons on my chest or it being to oblivious that I got surgery. I wish you good luck and please keep us posted on your progress!
Did you schedule your surgery yet? Mine are 425 and I love them just after a little over two months and they will keep getting better and better! If you can go bigger and your surgeon is comfortable with that, do it if you feel like you're skeptical! I thought 425 was ridiculously huge when I saw them implant and heard the number. I think mine are literally the perfect size. They give a great soft look from the front and I even have some slight side boobage and it looks really good, haha. He told me not to worry about the number, it can throw people off. Worry about the look you want to achieve. And it's also important, he said, that the boobs you have now is what you'll come out with, just a bigger version. Mine look like my old boobs (boobs? is that what they were?) but bigger- and awesome hahaha. I was so scared that HP would look gross. I was terrified. I went back for another meeting with him because I felt like moderate plus would have been better because they aren't as round obviously. But hey he was the expert so he knows better than me. And who's not to say they wouldn't have looked fantastic you know? But I have no complaints of mine that's for sure. I would like for them to settle just a little more as far as upper pole does go, but I had tight pectorals to begin with, so that's no surprise. They look awesome don't get me wrong especially for 2 months. They look like I've had them twice as long in my opinion. I fit in most of my old cute low cut tops since I was too small for them anyway. Some things I've had to let go of, but not very many things. Who is your doctor? Good luck to you girl! You'll be so happy you did this for yourself. I couldn't be happier
To be clear, I went back for the second meeting before my surgery, not after because I was unhappy or anything like that. :)
Also ask him about using fat grafting to fill in the divot at the top of one is even there
