Well, this has been a long time coming and I am happy to have found this site. After concluding I am done having children, I will finally be getting the implants I have been wishing for for the past 15 years. My husband and I are both very excited, but I am having my fair share of nerves as well.

I am at a heavier weight than I have ever been, but after two years of trying to lose the "baby" weight, I am going to try and accept this might be new body type for good. So, with that I am going to go ahead and get the surgery.

I have had a consult with Dr. Z, and went ahead and scheduled my op appt for Dec 29th. I went ahead and made a second consult for next week with another local Dr, Dr. Hubbard. Two reasons I booked a 2nd consult. The first is Dr Hubbard has vectra 3D imagine and Dr. Z doesn't - I just tried on sizers. The second is I have very little "under boob" currently and Dr Z said there is a chance I will develop double bubble deformity. He assured me that he would be able to correct it with a skin graft if necessary, but of course I rather try to avoid this all together. I am interested to see if Dr. Hubbard thinks differently. Either way, I will be having my surgery the 29th. I need to do it then while I am on winter break from school. Dr Hubbard assured me has this date open as of now. I will be seeing him on Friday 12/9 and then will make my final decision.

Hi Beth! How can I edit my Dr, so that my review links to his profile on RealSelf?

2nd Consult with Dr. Hubbard

Ktkt0812
Today I met with Dr. Hubbard in VA Beach and decided to book my surgery with him! I paid $500 deposit and scheduled my preop for the 20th, surgery for the 30th! Only one day after my original date, so I won't have to wait too much longer! I have to be there by 6:15am, which is good because I won't have to fast too long. :)

Dr. Hubbard reassured me regarding all my concerns. He assured me the chance of getting a double bubble is super small and he doesn't feel like he will need to lower the fold. He actually says he thinks I am very symmetrical and a great candidate. He wasn't concerned at all, and seemed extremely confident that things would come out great. He took lots more measurements than my previous Dr. I think they probably would have done more measurements at the preop, but I just felt like I was in the right place. I feel bad because Dr. Z was wonderful, but I just had a feeling that's all!

So my nerves and excitement are sky high right now. Going to try and remain calm and not stress over sizing. Right now I am going with 400 CC ideal implant, but think I should go with 375. I know it's not much of a difference, but I just don't want to seem too "too heavy" especially because I am already a few extra lbs.

Here is a pic of the 400cc. Will do 3D Vectra imaging and get a better idea on the 20th.

Did you get to feel the Ideal Implant next to the silicone? What was the feel like? I am trying to decide between the two but my PS that I want doesn't have a sample of them. I was thinking I would go around 400cc but I'm active and I don't want them to look fake on me so I went down to 350. You look like you have nice curves and 400 will probably look proportionate. You should see if your office has lender boobies you can take home and wear around the house. You'll get to feel what carrying around 400 feels like compared to smaller, in addition to how they look. I was a little worried about "boob greed" that everyone talks about but I think I'm over that, although I may feel different once I get the actual surgery! Im going to borrow 300 and 350 from my PS's office soon. Rice sizers just didn't cut it for me!

Yes! I did get to feel them side by side under a cloth - and they were very similar!! I was really surprised! One I felt them, I knew that's what I wanted bc I was trying to avoid silicone due to the need for repeat MRI's. I also like the more natural shape of the Ideal implant. They were more expensive, but worth it in my opinion. My Dr also showed me some pictures of others with the Ideal implants and they looked really great! That decision I am confident in! I am very curvy and have an "hourglass figure" - always have. Only thing missing is some boobs to even it out! I will definitely try on sizers again and look at the 3D images at my preop, so that should help me make my decision! When is your surgery? Good luck!! Thanks for the advice!!!

I got 340 cc ideal implants and I love them :) I wish I had gone a bit bigger but...you know...boob greed, it's a real thing ;) Remember you will lose a little bit of projection if you are going under the muscle, and 25 ccs is literally a shot-glass worth of fluid. ;)

Hey...saw your going with Hubbard. What was your deciding factor to go with him? Just curious...
December 10, 2016
Only because he seemed very confident that he would be able to perform my surgery without causing double bubble deformity and without lowering my fold, which Dr Z wanted to do and mentioned he was concerned about. I am glad Dr Z told me about that and even assured me that if that were to happen, he would correct it free of charge other than anesthesia fees. The second factor was his office is only 10 min from my house opposed to 45/50 going through the tunnel! (You know how that can be!) So for follow ups and preops it would be much easier and more convenient. I did go back and forth about my decision after the fact because I do really like Dr Z. They were really similar, both highly recommended and experienced with nice facilities - so it just came down to VERY small differences!

Did you choose a moderate plus profile?

The ideal implant as of now comes in only one profile. It's somewhere between a moderate plus and high profile, but not technically classified as either.

Anxiously waiting!

Ktkt0812
Tomorrow is my preop! I am excited to go try on sizers again and do the Vectra 3D imagining. I received a nice letter in the mail from Dr. Hubbard and a list of instructions to prepare for my surgery! (In 10 days!!!!!) feels so real, and exciting, and terrifying! I was trying to gather some "wish pics" but am having a hard time finding reasonable photos that aren't on a [RS bleep] site, lol! I did see a pair of nice boobs in an ad a while back and saved the pic. I will attach that for a reference. Wanting to look natural but not TOO natural. It's so hard to explain! Can't wait to get some more information tomorrow and lock down a size! Then I'm going to try and focus on the holiday and get boobs off my brain!
