I would like to share my Kybella experience and it is safe to say that it was amazing! I had recently lost weight due to a broken leg and foot injury that required me to take steroids. As a result , I gained over 80 pounds. After losing all of the weight I noticed that I had developed a large amount of neck fat that would not leave no matter how hard I exercised or at healthy. I had already been a patient of Dr Choe for a year, I received a none surgical nose job which gave me great results! I had decided I was ready to get rid of this turkey neck as it made my profile unattractive and drove me crazy! The weeks leading up to my treatment I had went on YouTube and seen videos of the majority of people saying that it hurt really bad! I have a high threshold for pain, but of course no one wants to feel pain. These reviews said it was so excruciating and unbearable to receive Kybella. The day of my appointment Dr Choe was so nice as always, and explained what he would do to min detail what would occur. I needed two syringes. was so surprised that I felt no discomfort, as the reviewers had stated that I would. Dr Choe talked to me and comforted me the whole time, “almost done, are you ok, you are doing great, you will have great results.” This really helped me and took my mind off what was occurring.
I could however feel in some areas the small pinch of the needle in just a few spots. After about the third injection, it was numb, and I could no longer feel anything at all! I was so surprised!! Dr Choe stated that he put numbing medication inside the syringe to prevent discomfort. He provided me an ice pack, and I was on my way. Within 10 minutes I was done. I did have some swelling but I wore a silk scarf, and mini turtle necks for about 5 to 6 days. Swelling was a little bull frogish for about 2 to 3 days and then it went down each day after. Today is a week later, and I am almost just about at baseline now. I would say by Wednesday will be back where I started. I believe my swelling lasted so long due to the large amount of fat under the chin that I had. Maybe there is a correlation between more fat equals more swelling? Anyhow, I look forward to seeing my results and this stuff works! Although still a little swollen I can see subtle changes a week later. For some reason my cheeks look smaller and slightly more defined. I go back in a month to receive my final treatment of two more syringes. Dr Choe is THE BEST and I will always come to him, and never let anyone else touch my face. He is very gentle, kind, and very brilliant. I am so blessed to have him as a doctor.
