41 and Needed Filler, Blunt Micro Cannula and Voluma Was a Miracle - Vernon Hills, IL

WORTH IT$2,300
Last Thursday I went to see Dr. RItacca in Vernon Hills, IL. I found him through a blunt micro cannula supplier, as he among others was a doctor who used their materials. I called and they said he loves working with micro cannulas and uses them mainly for his fillers. Another great thing about his practice is he had every filler imaginable and would use what he though was the best for your personal needs.
I needed to look great with very low down time as I have an important meeting this week (seven days after injection). The micro cannula paired with Dr. RItaccs's expertise left me with zero down time, zip. I went to a restaurant right after and looked fresh and normal (actually very improved). My husband estimates that the Voluma gave me eight years back. I look so good. For professional reasons, I need privacy so I can't share a photo with you. But I am serious. My hairstylist said, "You don't have a wrinkle on your face." I'm bubbly to say the least.
Dr. Ritacca used one vial of Voluma in each cheek with some of that material going into the eye trough and one syringe of Juvaderm Ultra around my lips. With the zero down time and amazing results, I highly recommend getting fillers with a blunt micro cannula and certainly love Voluma for the instant gratification. They tell me the Voluma should last about two years.

I iced three times for five minutes on each area filled. They told me to discontinue icing after mid day on day 2. The second day the cheeks were a little swollen but still attractive and presentable. Bruises-zero, redness, zero. Thank you Dr. Ritacca and staff.

Very nice office with friendly staff. I loved the marble angel with fairy in air sculpture in their entry area. I'm really spiritual so it made me feel like I was in the right place. I met with one of his consultant nurses (she looked like she could have been Cindy Crawford's sister), she took pictures of me and discussed my concerns and wishes. She talked to me about her professional opinion and suggested which product or procedure would help me get the results I desired. Dr. Ritacca came in to view my face and decided what he thought would work best. Once I agreed they escorted me to the procedure room and cleaned the areas for anesthetic and filler injections. I was nervous but desperate so I was game no matter if it hurt. It did not. When the doctor started filling, it felt a little bit strange but very tolerable and certainly not painful at all. After, the areas felt a tad warm and slightly tender but nothing unexpected or alarming. I had consulted another doctor for filler and noticed his front desk receptionist with very red blotchy cheeks. He did not use a blunt micro cannula and I could tell that her cheeks, which were also filled with Voluma, looked like they were going to bruise. She just looked like there was quite a bit of trauma with the blood vessels. After seeing that I knew I wanted the filler injected with a blunt micro cannula and boy am I glad I did. It was a five star experience all around. M.B.

8 years off your face is pretty impressive!  Was this your first time trying any sort of filler?
Hi, I'm so sorry I didn't reply sooner. About six years prior I had one vial of a natural collagen filler around my lip. I sleep on one side and it left a crinkle at the fold that I wanted to fill. That was my only experience with filler. It lasted four months. Sadly and at no fault of Dr. Ritacca, the Voluma did not last two years. I would say 6-8 months. I discovered that people may have a high metabolism of the fillers so they may not last as long in some as in others especially if in the process of dieting. I'd like to to fill my upper eyelids just a tad to give them some volume. Ritacca did not think I needed any but I am going to persuade him. I have been debating between filler and fat injection which is supposedly longer lasting but there are some scary stories related to fat graphs. I'm a bit nervous to say the least. With the touch of filler, so far (I did come back a month ago for a touch up) I have many people think I'm in my late twenties early thirties. As Martha would say, "That is a good thing!" The hollow tear areas are the most aging; I think filling that area is part of the key to looking fresh. Thanks for the comment and have a great day. :)

That is good to know about it not lasting as long- Voluma is still so new I don't think we will really know how long it truly lasts for a couple more years.  Let us know what you decide to do with your eyes- and if you choose filler versus fat.  They both definitely have their own set of risks.  Good luck with everything!
