Venus Viva extreme reaction

I had a Venus Viva done on my neck area 4 days ago , to my understanding I have had an extreme reaction . The first day was fine , but on the second and third day , my face looked deformed , I am very red and swollen and extreme laxity on my once tight neck . Has anyone had this reaction ? How long did your neck and face were swollen ? How long did the redness last .

Looks like you have a reaction to a numbing cream? Did they do any test spots couple of days before the procedure? Did you apply anything on your skin first 24 hours?

Yes, a numbing cream was used , but nothing else applies afterward.

No, I did not apply anything during the first 24 hrs , just a careful shower avoiding the neck area .

Was the numbing cream removed from the surface of the skin prior to the treatment? Do you know what parameters were used? They may have been too aggressive for your skin type.

You definitely had a reaction. What have you used post treatment? Any health issues?

Everything cleared up after about 3 weeks .

I did take Benadryl on the side during the first 3 days .

You’re fine, that’s the normal reaction, especially with the first few treatments. I panicked the first time too because I had a similar reaction. It also itched like crazy. Once my skin began to gain more collagen, it toughened up and the down time was much less. It sounds like your treatment was aggressive which, in the end, will be speed things up. But you can always tell them to turn it down next time.

Thank you .

Meant to add, if you think it’s the numbing cream, ask them for a short course of steroids. That’s what I did the first time. Also, it took about 6 days the first time to completely calm down.
