ventral hernia repair and tummy tuck with Dr. Masri

WORTH IT$7,800
I felt I had to do this review because it was somebody else's I read that promoted me to go to him and I have no regrets. Dr Nick Masri is one of the best plastic surgeon and one of the most underrated probably because he is not so much into social media and specializes in bariatric. Most of those other Instagram docs, you can't even get a personal consultation with them unless you pay money and their free consultation is with one of their coordinators who isn't even a Nurse Practitioner or PA. With Dr. Masri you get to see him free of charge for your consultation and you don't feel rushed he answers all you questions, he has over 20 years of experience, he specializes mostly with bariatric patient who are the most difficult patients because of their co-morbidities. When I had a slight wound dehiscence I emailed him the pictures and he called me right back was very reassuring that it will resolve and told me he has done thousands (tummy tuck)of these and I should trust him. I also had a ventral hernia that he was able to fix , some plastic surgeons cant cover general surgery and would have to consult a general surgeon, he has extensive training that covers it all. The worst thing about a tummy tuck is having an obvious tummy tuck belly button, hence another reason I picked him was his natural looking belly button and I am 100% pleased. He performs his surgeries in a Hospital ( that already tells you he is board certified plastic surgeon), so JACHO standards are upheld Anesthesiologists/CRNA more support and equipment with anesthesia Incase something uneventful happens surgery centers have less support.......plus you get overnight stay, monitored by RN, IV antibiotics x 24 hours, fast onset pain medicines, Foley catheter to your bladder overnight so you don't have to get up to urinate, especially that first night which can be difficult because of pain and IV fluids for hydration through the night. Lastly he has the best personality usually they say good surgeons have a bad attitude but that cannot be further from the truth when it comes to Dr Masri. Will recommend over and over again!!!

You look amazing! Did you do lipo on your stomach
Thanks! Yes He did LIPO my flanks
You look amazing! I am actually going to be traveling to Florida form the west past to have surgery by Dr Masri. I can't wait , but I am also so nervous . I have gained weight since covid so I have to shed this weight again quickly so I don't mess up my results . Any advice for recovery ? And your belly button looks soooo good. Congratulations to the new you
I was the same way I gained weight just before the surgery and right after but sometimes that puts a lot of tension on your incision so just try your best..... but if not as long as you make a concerted effort at some point you will be fine. He does 80% of the work but to get the optimum results we have to put In that extra 20%. He was very honest when I had my consult with him and was in awe with some of his results he said he can't take all the credit (humble guy), they ate well and exercised. For recovery the only thing is when you have the drains( for me was 4 weeks) he will keep you in the abdominal binder (which doesn't give you enough compression or support), I couldn't stand straight for a week in that thing, the moment I put the faja on I could stand straight and the swelling went down faster the only thing is you have to be careful with the drains that you don't pull the out drains, use a maxi pad around your incision, and make sure the drains aren't lying on your incision. But don't be nervous you are in good hands! So worth it ! Good luck!!!
Thai you so much for your advice . Could you not wear a faja until he drains are removed ? I will be flying home two weeks after surgery I was hoping to have drains out by then but sounds like many people have them longer than 2 weeks . I have been planning this for over a year and my date had changed so I'm more than ready . Just nervous going alone and staying in a recovery but I think once in it I'll be just fine :)
What was your BMI or height And weight? I am like 35bmi I believe. You are welcome to private message me if you feel better or I understand if you don't want to share details .i am just sooo excited nervous and all the feelings and questions , that's why i ask lol your story makes me so happy and hopeful
I would wear the Faja after your 1st follow up appointment, even with the drains on, you can maneuver around it but he will tell you to wait till the drains come out(cause they don't want you to pull out the drains by mistake )but personally I will say start to wear them after your first follow up appointment usually the next week, because it helps reduce the swelling more and gives you more support to stand straight and move around. Just be careful with the drains that the lines don't lay on your incision and get maxi pads to protect your incision from the Faja. He is not quick to remove drains even if you have to travel home with them and take them out later when the drainage is less because he is concerned with developing seroma and not having you abdomen contract back and with me I had mine for 4 weeks and yes it's frustrating but was worth it ......but my personal opinion 4 weeks without a Faja is not good because the Faja compression also helps bring the swelling down and those girl in Dominica Republic are put in them right away. I was I am 5'5 and I am about 180lbs now BMI calculator says 30 after surgery I gained another 15 lbs before I decided to get serious restarted orange theory 2 months ago and have dropped back down to 180. Happy to help.....whatever questions you have feel free to ask. Also have compression socks for your flight back and move around on the plane to prevent DVT( clots in our legs) he is very good so if you need blood thinners he will give it to you....
You look great! Your surgeon did a great job. Wishing you a speedy and thorough recovery. I'm scheduled for a TT on August 28th.

I live in New York and Dr. Richard Reish of the Long Island Plastic Surgery Group will be performing my surgery. I never thought to document it. Maybe I should take before pictures.
Did Dr. Reish perform your surgery yet? Have you ever met him before?
Yes, Kristy S, Dr. Reish performed a tummy tuck with lipo on August 28th. I am very happy with my results, but still have a bit of swelling 4 months out. My belly button looks awesome! I had never met him before the surgery. I just did my research online and then had a virtual consultation with him before having an in-person consultation. He is very personable and knowledgable of the procedure and he put my mind at ease.
