I had this relatively new procedure done July 2018 by a board certified (I think) vascular surgeon in Rancho Mirage CA. There were 2 procedures done a week part. I was scared and almost cancelled the day before. There are a lot of unknowns and it is not best to be among the early users of a new medical treatment.
The pain was a 3.5 at the sight of the injection lasting only a second. It was weird and uncomfortable as the catheter slid through the vein, yes from the ankle to the groin. A week later a second procedure in the area of my bulging veins. The after photo was taken the day after procedure 2. Ugly painful veins gone. 6 months later, looks really good. No healing problems whatsoever. I’m glad I did it but sometimes wonder will they someday discover it causes some kind of unexpected problem or disease. Could a piece of glue break off and go to my heart, brain or lungs. As they say, no risk, no reward.
