Compression hose are must have!
So here I am, a week and half out from my last surgery. Today, I went back to teaching at church and thought hey, I will just wear my athletic compression socks because the doctor orders said I only needed to wear the hose for seven days. Yeah.... I didn't have the pain but what I did learn after taking my shower (I wore pants all day and didn't notice this) is that the compression hose is sooo worth it. Check out my crazy bruises that started today. And it's only on my upper thigh were I didn't wear any compression hose. Let this be a lesson to you - wear the damn hose for as long as you can.
Day One after 3rd surgery
So, if you haven't gotten lost yet in my updates here the scoop so far: 11-1-2017 I had laser treatment on my left leg. 11-2-2017 the surgeon went in and removed the problem dead vein. I had a rough recovery, very sore. One week later on 11-8-2017.
I removed 12 clean sutures from the left leg per doctor suggestion. Now it is 11-9-2017 and the surgeon did the laser treatments and the vein removal on the right leg at the same time. This leg was not as severely enlarged as the left. Here we are on day one after third surgery, 11-10-2017 and leg is fairly good. The pain isn't as bad as it was for the left leg. I have 20-25 sutures in the right leg. Quick tip,
Get those nexcare style plastic water proof bandaids to cover each suture for a couple of days. It helps with the showers and oozing. Here are some photos of the bruising on the left leg and the sutures on the right. And some before photos. I learned that a heating pad helps with the soreness. And wearing the compression hose helps too.

Day 3 - yeah this hurts. A lot.
I'm not going to lie - I really thought this would be an easy surgery to recover from. I have had several surgeries as an adult, tonsillectomy, wisdom teeth extraction with dry socket, D&C, 2 vaginal births, lap hysterectomy in April 2017 and now this varicose vein removal. I'm on day 3 of my removal surgery and it has been painful. I still get up and take my kids to school, do chores and walk around but the pain is there. And last night I started to see why I was in a lot of pain. Bruising. And lots of it. Just an FYI - be ready for it. And it sucks. Oh yeah, there also ten sutures in the skin. And my gosh, it itches. I saw that one a video on YouTube: one guy said it itched a lot (he thought it was from shaving his legs, lol) and I was like, what? Nah, he was right. It itches everywhere.
