Vbeam Burned my Skin
kittyworldNovember 12, 2019
I had several Vbeam laser procedures for my rosacea at this office in the past, with no issues and some success. I thought it would be same, little downtime and reduction in redness and veins. But this time, with the dr L. being retired and another young doctor assuming his place, it didn't not go well. Either the young girl performing my treatment was not properly trained, which is a big possibility, or the machine not calibrated or the wrong settings were used, but I got severe burns from the laser that are still there after almost 6 weeks and they might take months or years to resolve, if ever. I noticed that none of the other technicians were there and this girl seemed very young. She said she had used the same settings as last time but she should had noticed right away that my skin was being burned and should had lowered the settings. Luckily she only did one pass as she planned to do two.
I left the office red like a tomato which was never the case in the previous treatments. When I called the next day saying that I have been burned, she vaguely said to put aloe vera and wait, The doctor in charge never called me back and I was not asked to come to get help with the burn. She called me a few times after saying to wait and it will get better. When I said that I got burned and I should get at least a refund on the botched procedure, she said they can offer me a free HydraFacial! Like it would make a difference.
Anyway, the whole experience has been very stressful and I am left with a red /white burned skin with white lines and indentations and a creepy texture. My skin was in good condition before, with a little diffuse redness. I went to another dermatologist who diagnosed this as burns and PIH and gave me some hydrocortisone cream and retin A for hyperpigmented area. He also offered me two free Led light treatment. I can only hope that maybe in several months my skin will get back to some normal color but there is no guarantee.
Please be very careful with who does this procedure, it can be very good but result in severely damaged skin,
