Botched Liposuction!!!

I had Smart lipo 11 months ago and have hesitated to post my pictures but after I completely healed the results were TERRIBLE!!

Before you judge my results I want to make it crystal clear that I wore my compression garment RELIGIOUSLY!! I did not take it off for ANY reason other than to shower!

I went in and had all the post surgery lymphatic massages with an amazing massage therapist who was experienced with post liposuction massage.

I did not start seeing all the uneven and sagging skin until about 6 months post op.
These photos are not even close to all of the mistakes that were made.
I have HUGE crater lines, dents and completely uneven liposuction areas on my stomach, hips and back that do not show up as well in pictures.

I did NOT have sagging skin before I went in for lipo. I have had two children so I do have stretch marks and my skin likely does not have the same elasticity of someone who does not have stretch marks however, my surgeon should have made me aware of the risk that my skin would not heal very well after surgery. I am devastated and now I have to live like this for the rest of my life!

I would like to warn any woman considering smart lipo...DO NOT do it if you have stretch marks as it will just make your skin sag and it will not heal normally.

I researched every single doctor in my area that offered smart lipo and I went to four consultations so I thought I had done my research. There is no guarantee no matter how much research you think you have done, how many positive reviews your doctor has....it may not end up being what you thought it would be!

Before stats

I am 43 years old
4 ft 11 in tall
110 lbs day of surgery
26 % body fat

I have struggled with hormonal imbalances, cortisol on the high end of normal so exercise just made me fatter around the middle!!

I finally decided after hiring personal trainers, counting macros, weighing and measuring all my food and 2 hour a day workouts nothing was going to work. So I decided to do Vaser liposuction.

Second update

I did NOT drain at all!!! The incisions healed over within 24 hours and so I believe my swelling may have lasted longer than most people.

By 2 days post op I was using bandaids and never had any leaking of fluid. The second day I felt great just a bit swollen, stiff and a bit sore.

TIP: When the lidocaine wears off in the middle of night two....it hurts!!! Take your pergocet before bed even if you think you won't need it!

3 days post op: I showered on my own and felt fine but kept the water warm but not hot.

The compression garment was so HARD to get on and it hurt to get on. I had terrible bruising on my lower abdomen and legs. It took about 5-7 minutes to get it on.

I could not sit down at all. I needed to he standing or in a reclining position. I bought a post surgical wedge pillow which has been a lifesaver.

I watched a show and then would walk around the house for 10 minutes or so and continued to do that all day. I walked slow and was quite stiff. I was very swollen but likely due to all that fluid that did not leak out.
I took a 30 minute walk outside before bed. I peed all night long!!! Lost 2 lbs by morning which was likely all that retained fluid that didn't leak out of the incisions.

Day 4 post op: I took 2 extra strength Tylenol this day. I was quite sore. The bruising is gnarly and I am still very swollen.

I though it was far enough from surgery to take a hot shower. BIG mistake!! I got extremely nauseated and had to lean on the counter and breathe for awhile.

The compression garment is so hard to get on. I just shower as soon as I wake up just to get it over with.

Still super swollen and so sore. Still can only stand, sit reclining or lay down. Laying hurts for a few seconds but gets better after that. Rolling over or moving is hard and painful. Had terrible acid reflux at night due to how tight the compression garment was so I used my wedge pillow half the night. I highly recommend purchasing one.

Oh the itching...YIKES!!! Took benadryl at night because I couldn't stand it.

Day 5 post op: Feeling a bit better, less swelling and cooked a big meal for the family that night for dinner. I can walk around fine, its a bit sore but getting better.

Took a long 2 mile walk in the evening and was fine.

Day 6 post op: A lot better today. Less swelling and not too sore. This is the first day I could walk normally without being hunched over a little and walking a bit stiff.

Compression garment was easier to get on today. I cleaned the house, vacuumed, folded laundry and felt good. I still can't bend over so there is a lit of contortions required to do some things.

I rested in the afternoon.

I have noticed if you sit or lay down for more tha. 20 minutes you swell a lot and feel stiff and it takes a minute or so of walking around to work it out.

Best day so far. Bruising is traveling down my legs...some is still purple and some is turning greenish.

Day 7 post op. First day back to work. Up at 5am and feel a bit sore but good. I teach Pilates so I was worried but I felt great and no one even noticed. I do not do Pilates with them, I just instuct so it is a lot of walking but nothing strenuous. It went great and the soreness is getting better every day.

The compression garment wasn't bad at all to get on today. I'm also wearing a belly binder for more support.

I just purchased a stomach compression board to give more support and prevent any wrinkling of the skin. I wish I had done it sooner!! You can purchase them on Amazon and if you are going to do any form of lipo I HIGHLY recommend it to optimize your result.

Still a lot of bruising. I took Sinnech for bruising, I've used Arnica gel as well.
