I didn't end up doing it but Dr. Mike is the best

Long story.... but for medical reasons, Dr Mike wasn't able to go ahead with the surgery. I appreciated a lot that the prioritised my health over anything else (although the medical reason turned out to be a false alarm). Dr Mike and his team were extremely compassionate. He kept reassuring me, and even held my hand when i got visibly upset and scared. He's very kind and so are his team. If you are thinking of having vaser, i would recommend him hands down. Good luck!!

Day Before Surgery + Links to Aftercare Products

Soooo.... It's the night before my procedure. Excited and nervous in equal measure. A few updates...
I was a bit worried and had more questions. The team was able to squeeze me in for a last minute video consult with Dr Comins, where he answered all my questions and reassured me.
I got emails asking me to confirm my COVID status and did a PCR test with the NHS. Also got sent a prescription for antibiotics and painkillers.
Then I got calls to remind me of how to prepare (no food after midnight) and all that. I was worried my friend wouldn't be able to pick me up after the procedure (as is required with IV sedation), but Sofia mentioned a chaperone could be arranged for £20 an hour, which is a super useful option. Thankfully, my friend will pick me up so I won't need to use it.
I also booked 2 of my post-op MLD sessions already. Booked it with a technician who used to work as a nurse with Dr Comins, so she has experience with aftercare for his patients. She's really lovely. Her name is Natalja from mldme.co.uk.
Will share before and after pics from my next review onwards, but in the meantime, here's the list of the aftercare products they recommend getting before your procedure. I got them all from amazon.

Vaser Coming Up in 2 Weeks

Great experience so far with Dr Comins and the team at Hand Place. I plan to catalogue my journey and experience here, as reading other reviews have been super helpful.

Sofia and Shazia are rockstars! Very patient and responsive. They were able to squeeze me in for the consultation with short notice, due to a cancellation, which I was very grateful for. I'm hoping for another cancellation so my surgery date can be bumped up. Supposed to be on the 21st, but keeping my fingers crossed to have it sooner.

Consultation was short and sweet. Dr Comins was gracious to answer all my questions (and I had prepared a LOT) so I was quite reassured. I opted for sedation because I'm quite squeemish about needles, so I would be overcome with anxiety without sedation

Received a LOT of pre and post care info via email, after I booked the surgery. Really important to go through these thoroughly and in detail. I read it all and watched all the videos. The amount of info is a bit daunting, but nevertheless extremely useful and reassuring.

I bought all the extras recommended from Amazon, for managing the dressings and wounds (I'll try to share links in my next post). I've also started taking the recommended vitamin A and iron supplements. Doing everything by the book :)

My main worries / concerns now are....
1) Surgery risk. Every surgery comes with risks. I keep being concerned about a fat embolism, but Dr Comins reassured me that although it's a risk, it's highly unlikely since there's no fat transfer and I'm only having vaser on my abdomen
2) I've had surgery before and had issues with drainage and swelling. So I'm concerned about the method of not using drains. I've read a lot of reviews and it seems many of those that needed revisions or were unhappy with results, had a real issue with swelling. I plan to contact the doc to ask about this again
3) I have a scar on my stomach from a previous surgery as a kid, so concerned about how it will look after lipo
4) I have to travel 2 weeks after surgery, so I'm hoping it's safe, and wondering how I will cope without MLD. Another reason why I'm hoping I can get the surgery sooner if someone cancels, so I can have as many MLD session as poss, and more time to recover before leaving
5) In a few reviews, I've read about lower belly / pubic swelling, and some results where the lower belly is still bigger even after the results have settled. Really concerned about this as that's the MAIN thing I'm trying to get rid of. So hoping to contact the doc on this point also, to be prepared and know the best way to minimise this
6) Last but not least (and this is probably not relevant for most people), but I keep pondering and praying about whether or not God approves of me taking the step. I know it sounds silly, but I find myself thinking about this a lot

That's about it for now. Seems like a lot of info given surgery date is quite a while away, but I hope it's helpful, cos post pre-op reviews I've seen are a lot closer to the date.
