I've always had a long philtrum (20mm) and I'm finally doing something about it.. I'm beyond nervous but my doctor does amazing work.. he says he only wants to take off 25%, which is 5mm. I'm scared that's not enough but I trust his opinion so we'll see????.. I haven't told anyone, not even my husband.
Scheduled for May 11. Also, I've had 2 previous rhinoplasties, I don't love my uneven nostrils at all????

I am very excited to see your review as i am considering this surgery too and i am in Vancouver. Good luck with your surgery! can you pls tell how much you paid ? It shows $3,517Can but i noticed that sometimes Realself converts currencies incorrectly

Good luck with your surgery. :) Your surgeon is very smart not to remove more than 25% of your current lip length. You can always go back and take more later but you can never ever put skin back. Also, taking too much skin at once can result in bad scarring. I'm living proof.

I can't wait to see your results! I've been looking at Thomas Buonassisi for awhile, but I've always thought his price is quite steep for such a small procedure. :/

You look so young and pretty before why would you do that? It's the small difference on each person that make you unique. Look at Lauren Hutton she had that big gape tooth thing going on and she never fixed it, nor did Cindy Crawford with that mole. I don't know I just think you looked better before. I guess when the swelling goes down and aging really starts you might think it's worth it 20 years from now.. :*(

Mom, is that you? Lol just kidding.. My long lip has always bothered me and made me feel insecure and I'm thrilled with my results so far, I don't at all regret it. Dr. Buonassi took a very natural approach and I'm so grateful for his wisdom about how much to remove, he was spot on. I'm actually 44 in June, thanks for saying I look young, you made my day! I think I take pretty good care of myself, a plant based diet and loads of sunscreen:).. I agree that this procedure isn't for everyone, but my philtrum was way too long and it made me unhappy so I changed It. I feel really good about my decision and most importantly it makes me feel happy:).. Have a great day:)

Wow, am I ever in a lot of pain!! I'm at home now and resting but I can't wait for this horrible throbbing to stop. I will write more tomorrow when I'm feeling better.

Take your pain meds!! And start to ice. 20 minutes on and off. Otherwise, you will get really swollen, with the worst on day 3

I didn't get pain meds, but Thank God I had some Mexican tramadol left from my last vacation. The pain was horrendous day 1, and felt almost nothing in day 2.. so weird!

Reading about your desire for youth teeth showing, I think it's good you don't have that because i was just thinking how great it is that it looks so natural on you. I think it's better to get what improvement you can while still keeping to your natural looks. I think you're right in the sweet spot! I'm very curious what peoples reaction was and if you found you were able to keep the surgery secret from some... if people couldn't really tell?
