What are some helpful creams for scars?
rylie7June 26, 2015
WORTH IT$3,750
I am noticing a slight bit of scarring on my left inner corner of my eye, and I'm sure I'm a little bit overreacting and I don't think anyone can really see unless they inspect my eye, but I am prone to hypertrophic scarring. What are some reccomendations for scar therapy?

Final Stage!
rylie7June 25, 2015
My stitches are all gone (they started coming out 5 days after surgery), I had my 1 week post surgery follow up on Monday (Dr. Buonassissi was impressed with the crazy healing) the swelling is completely gone and the final results are starting to show!
I got so excited, my boyfriend took me to Sephora for a makeup haul, because I can actually wear makeup now :D so that is pretty great! Not having hooded eyelids anymore.
I do have to say, that during the healing process, just as I expected I was going to stay looking like I did that day, I looked pretty different the next day (Is it apparent in photos??) and it was little weird, but I do look a lot more like myself now but just not with obscured eyes. My boyfriend kept starting at my eyes in awe today, and he said he didn't notice before how bright they actually were. He was head over heels with the results.
Also, nobody thinks I'm angry anymore. And I got asked for my number on the train by some dude. So I think this surgery really helped tone down my [RS bleep] rest face a lot. 10/10 would reccomend!

Day 5
rylie7June 19, 2015
So I may have went out a little bit. I got so sick of being home by myself for 10 hours a day with limited things to do. I don't even like being home on any other day knowing there's so much in the outside world to do! But I couldn't really watch too much TV, or read, or play video games without straining my eyes, so my friend took me out for the day so I didn't go nuts :)
I feel like I'm really fortunate that I got like the most absolute miniscule bruising. There's a little bit of blood pool at the base of my lashes but you don't even notice it and that is the extent of my bruising. I didn't have to use concealer at all, I just used a tiny little bit of illuminating powder with a precision eyeshadow brush under my eyes where it was very faintly purple and I was good to go!
Swelling has gone down drastically. My eyes don't feels as tight anymore, so the migraines have subsided. There's just a spot on the very end of my incision line that's causing me a little bit of trouble because the stitches came a little loose from the skin being pulled too tight so whenever I would laugh, it would tug at it, but nevertheless, it's healing and not infected and that's all I'm grateful for. It could be a lot worse!

For only 4 days post surgery you look great. I think you will find that you heal very quickly from now on and be delighted with the results.

Your eyes are beautiful! Have fun and live life and wait until your stitches are removed before applying makeup products. you don't want to risk any chances of a set back on those beautiful eyes!

You look adorable!! I hope that you can post a before picture because I think my case is pretty similar to yours with the puffy and hooded eyes. Did your doctor make the cut on your natural eyelid crease? Thank you so much for sharing!
June 25, 2015
Awwwwe thank you!! And yes he did :) I think doing that really helped make it look more natural as opposed to looking like you tried to completely alter your eye shape. Are you deciding on getting the procedure?
June 25, 2015
Wow, your before pic looks just like mine!! When I take pics you can never see my double eyelid, but in person it's obvious. I want to, but I have an insanely traditional Asian family that would disapprove. But I am an adult and the decision is mine. Any tips for recovery? You are healing beautifully! Can't wait to see your next update.

So you don't have a monolid then right? You're just like me! I have an actual crease naturally but the skin folds right over it and it makes me feel like I have something on my eyelids all the time. And it gets pretty annoying, hence why I got the surgery done :) you know I'm gonna go ahead and say it, but your decision affects you and you only. And it's important to live by what you feel is the right decision. If I listened to the multitude of people including my family who told me not to get my breast reduction, I would be sitting here with severe back pain in an unhappy state of mind 24/7. But at the same time, they might actually end up being okay with it! My case wasn't the worse case of hooded eyelids, but the people around me have noticed just how much better my eyes looked and expressive and high spirit I come off as. So you do what feels right, because people in the end will see that it is the right decision :) (on a personal note, surgery works a whole lot more in your favour if you are trying to improve the aesthetics rather than trying to completely alter the shape of your eye. Your eye is your eye, and all surgeons can do is take off all the skin and fat they can, but when your eyelids heal, where they fall and how they look afterwards is completely dependant on your natural eye structure. For instance, I have a natural crease, but it is not a very big one, so as much as my surgeon tried to remove as much skin and fat as he could, my eyes healed with my eyelids coming down still fairly close to my lash line, relative to most people. But that is my natural eye and as much as I wished there was a lot more room, it's important to have realistic expectations :)

For recovery, keep a ton of water soaked gauze in the fridge :) they were pretty much cold compresses and they felt so so good on my poor swollen eyes :) and thank you for your kind comments :)

I have a double eyelid, it's just super puffy and also touches my lashes. My pictures only show the crease on the outer corners, just like your before.
I couldn't agree with you more! If I choose to do this, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. And you are absolutely right regarding these types of surgeries. Many go into it wanting alterations that are unachievable. I'm not unhappy with the way I look, I just want a little off the top. YOLO! I'll be in touch and let you know if I decide to go for it. Thanks for the advice!

Thats actually awesome :) The difference to Asian eyes after the surgery always seems to look pretty subtle and natural (at least what I've researched before anyways) so honestly, your family might not notice right away :) Hahahahahaha that made my day. Damn right YOLO, youre perfect!
My doctor didn't tell me, but from what he marked up, he took as much skin as he could without disrupting being able to fully close my eyes (as my eyes naturally don't really run the risk of looking hollow if he took too much off) but I could guess about 1 centimetre (a little less than half an inch) at the ends of eyes and going smaller towards the inner corners.
Yeah let me know if you decide to! :)
