So I’ve been spending a lot of time at lightrx over the last few months and Dr. MK let me know they were offering a new procedure she was pretty excited about that involved micro needling, PRP, umbilical cord stem cells, and a chemical peel. It’s pricey! $5k, but reduces the need for fillers and offers long term results. I went to an open house and heard about the various benefits and signed up. In the week leading up to the treatment, they gave me vitamins and a facial serum to use to prime the skin. I used the serum on my face but not my neck. On the day of the treatment, she drew blood to spin out the platlets and applied a numbing cream. I thawed the stem cells in my hand and then she loaded the Vaccuum microneedle machine. There was 5ml of product and she would go over as much of my face, neck and chest as we had product for. The actual treatment really didn’t hurt. I noticed that my neck was much more irritated than my face and chest and in the days that followed it was insanely itchy! Apparently that is the chemical peel. Excited to see the results. The $5k is for 3 treatments. This is definitely the Mercedes of facial treatments.

I know that I am late commenting. I 100% agree with you! I paid $2,500 for PRP. After injecting the platelets into my skin, she left enough to microneedle the rest into my face. The first few days I thought my skin looked fabulous! But now that I am far more knowledgeable regarding microneedlng using the Dr. Pen, skin boosters, and pure hyaluronic acid, I realize that it was the results from the microneedling that gave me the dewy, bright skin. Because you have to have a safe but consistent microneedling schedule to see results, after a week or so, I could see no significant results (especially as I was mainly having it done for a few facial scars that made me very insecure). Thankfully the doctor was kind enough to have me come in and was honest in that she agreed with me. She gave me 3 sessions of laser treatments that produced FAR better results! I am sure the package sells for far less money as well. I have now become educated in skin boosters, microneedling, and there is even a product made by Curenex called a snow peel that I use in between microneedling treatments (sometimes I microneedle at medical depth, and other times more shallow). My scars are almost completely gone, and the worst I had looked like I had been sliced by a knife and was raised quite a bit. Now I can wear no makeup, my other scars are completely gone, and the texture of my skin is great!

Results didn’t really hold. I have since needed sculptra and filler. This procedure wasn’t worth it.
